What is "Hissa"?

I do not claim my self to be an expert of car mechanical but still i often drag my self under my car and resolve often. Only thing in years of my car ownership i m never been able to understand term "aap ki car ka hissa farigh ho gaya hi".
Can any body please explain what the hell this "Hissa" thing really is.

Its a vague term loosely use for cross members and differentials.
