Hello Brothers!!!

I am not cerainly clear abt Rear Wheel Drive. Is it better as compared with front wheel drive and y.

Both have their own advantages, like RWD suffers from oversteer and FWD suffers from understeer. However modern traction control / VSA equipped cars prevent these problems to an extent.

FWD's have a better fuel economy, better power output since there is minimal drive train loss. They also allow for more trunk space. Lowered flooring is another advantage as there is no transmission tunnel.

RWD's however are ideal for big luxury cars or exotic sports cars.

RWD means in a laymans language that once the accelator is pressed the tyres at the back puses/ spins or moves instead of front ones....
These cars are mostly with inline engines or their engines are mounted in the trunk...

Engin spins only Rear Wheels (back wheels).

4x4 means all four wheels spin.

Front wheel drive means only Front wheels would spin.

Rear Wheel Driven cars perform poor on snow.

Most European cars are Rear Wheel Drive, mainly as they are more suited for performance driving.

All F1 cars are rear wheel drive.

(BMW only makes rear wheel drive or 4x4)

but my definition is

All above posts are valid for front engined rear wheel drive cars. A nicely balanced mid engined RWD car like the R8 or a 599 handles superbly well. A car's handling depends more on the car's weight balance rather than the type of its drive terrain. However, an AWD mid engined setup is best for handling.

^^ he isnt saying that only BMW makes real wheel drive cars ... he is saying BMW only makes rear wheel drive or 4x4 .. so i dnt see anything wrong with that statement ..

Rear Wheel drive Or RWD cars r those which are driven by powering the rear wheels ... FWD are those in which front wheels are powered .. AWD cars are those in which All the 4 wheels are powered .. Fwd are more ecnomical than Rwd but Rwds are surelyyy moree funn than Fwd ..
