What is the difference in dry & wet battries

Kindly let me know the performance and life diference between dry and wet/liquid batteries.
is dry battry recharchable?
if not, wot to do if battry goes down, how to start engin?

Could Help U With the Second Thingy!
If You car got manual gears then only this thing is Applicable. Put ur car in neutral and ask the fellows to push ur car. As soon as ur car develops some momentum move the gear to first and it will start.

Dry batteries generally require no maintaince (water level check etc) while wet batteries do. Dry batteries usually have a life of a year or so while wet have a bit less.. 7-9 months i think. Dry batteries cost alot more than wet ones.

wet batteries are the common ones u see in cars and u hafta refill their cells with distilled water every now and then

dry batteries contain selaed gel and though they are expensive, they dont requires any kind of maintenance and yes they are also re-chargeable

nowdays dry batteries are available at every battery shop

i dont think the the new modal cars like civic, corrola or liana can b pushed while even in nutral gear.

well i changed my cars' battery today' i have liana rxi.1 year is over since i got the car. today i changed the battery upon suzuki people advice on dry batter. i got AGS battery in rs. 2650. rs 200 for the old one and 100 consession. total 2350 i gave to him.
letc see how long it lasts........

@punk .. dude u gonna kill him... putting on first gear will have greater chances of damaging gear box...

this is what u should do...
A:
(if u wanna move forward)

Sit in a car, move to SECOND GEAR, press clutch till u feel the car is in good move (probably a speed of 20km+), release the clutch and press the Accelerator and get the self also... the car should start

B:
if u have another car or battery, join the battery to your battery and start the car...

Now pertaining to the dry battery... if u r referring it to no Maintenance one... yeah its Rechargeable... All batteries pertaining to the cars are a MUST rechargeable ones...

I have had extremly good experiance with DRY batteries... using em for the last 8 years or so in different cars... Had it in my Civic and Cultus, used it for 2 years in Civic and 3 years in Cultus, sold both the cars while it was still in a perfect condition.

I also have dry batteries in the recent cars that i have...

The main differance between the 2 is dry battery is maintance free while the other one needs maintance from time to time.wet batteries leak liquid from time to time and hence make ur engine bay dirty and remove paint which exposes metal and eventally rust will catch the metal.Dry batteries have more life compared to wet one's.me changed from wet to dry battery in last july.no problem observed since then.dry battery have more current (Amps) compared to wet battery.e.g for mehran normal wet battery has 35 Amp while dry battery has 45 Amp.me got 1 year warrenty for dry battery including everything e.g leaks,battery getting dead,not giving optimum current etc etc.shopkeeper told me that life of a dry battery is 5 years.i have yet to see how long it will last.

For manual cars its easy to start.

Release handbreak, gear in N (Neutral) and push. Giving the wheels momentum and speed. turn the key.

Car will start, shift to 1st and apply brakes. Pull handbrake; car is on and stopped. Youre free to do anything!

Sir, this "pushing" technique will work on ANY MANUAL car even if its a Ferrari ... or Mehran; it doesnt matter. The same rules and laws of physics apply--I dont wnat to get into that now though!

It just has to be manual, otherwise a A/T Cuore CX will not start via this technique.

One should keep a set of JUMPER CABLES in car for such a situation. Connect your battery terminals thru this cable with some other car battery terminals and crank. Why get into trouble of finding people to push your car.

where did the need for changing the car battery arise from. btw if it was not right at the first place then why didnt u get it replaced from suzuki ppl. i suppose at least this thing falls under warranty.

btw congrats on new purchase, and as far as ur question goes, the composition of both dry/wet is diff. and evident. and yes dry batteries are rechargeable and their charging cycle must ve been written on to that manual that comes along with ur battery.
