Traveling from faisalabad to peshawer in March 2012. Speeding between 160-180km/hr . Never caught as i was using a radar detector. I stopped at service area and didn't realize activating again and damn was stopped.. I will look for ticket i have somewhere.

Travelling from Islamabad to Lahore last year with 3 friends. Stopped by Cops somewhere in between salt range. Speed was 70 Km/Hr but was off the limit of 30 in that particular region. Just talked to them nicely and apologized for my intentional act and they let me go. Later on had a cup of tea at service/resting area with the same cops on my way back to isloo..........What a co-incidence. Infact, They recognized me and offered us all a cup of tea :). It was a nice experience.

This is what I have in my car. Valentine1. In Pakistanis police use radio wave radars X and K band which can be easily be detected by a medium to good quality radars detector. Here in US police now also use laser detectors. High end detectors can detect it as well.

For Pakistan motorway a detector price range min 60 and up can easily give u a signal beep letting u know a gun is active and u can reduce the speed before being trapped. My friend use a cobra detector bough here for 100 and he travel frequently on M1 and M2 and never caught. Again u can get away from ticket but speeding isn't good anyway.

You can buy here at local stores easily. If u r caught then its illegal. I use it everyday. In NY tint law is 70 % light passing.. I have 30 on my cars and I drive like a boss.. .

You are mistaken. On M2 they use Laser guns (no compromise on catching people lol) and not Radar guns. I personally have the Escort Passport 9500ix and it has only saved me about 5 out of 10 times. So it has saved me around 4000 rupees, which is about 1/8th its actual cost.

Radar is very easy to detect, as it spreads out. Laser gets detected right at the end (narrow parallel beams), so you usually get caught.

Well.. I have been using valentine 1 and not escort. Which is radar and laser detector. again it depends what you have. Seems lucky that i got the beep and reduced my speed.
Here in USA, where I will be happy to pay ticket if it don't come on your record. Speeding tickets on your record and bump your insurance premium goes up. For us spending 4 to $500 is ok as ticket is 100 plus and points plus premium increase.

If u have escort.. Give a try to valentine . No Detectors is not 100 percent but to your experience 50% is ok as well for us.
