can ya pls furnish us from the jewls of urs knowledge about the volumetric sales comparison of Suzuki Mehran/alto with different available 800cc to 1000cc gasoline cars in pakistan and india. Raw Material costings, Production overheads? any imported materials? after seeing the fact sheet i tink it will be very easy to make a feasibility report regarding production of a new car in pakistan
moreover price of suzuki mehran also includes the value of own money and its cost reaches up to round about 455,000.00. carriage charges, token taxes, registration fees are exclusive to that amount. so it reaches upto the price of Rs. 500,000.00 minimum and PKR 500K=369K Indian Rupees. a helluva difference.
can we produce another car in such a low price like 250K? we do want to reach a standard, have we calculated the levis and taxes imposed by government? will Pak Suzuki Motors or other existing auto producers in pakistan allow us to provide medium class with an exclusive car costing to Rs. 250K? do we have to face a strong compitition?

I swear my intention ain't to start another war ,lol, but the above is being sold for 2.69 lacs plus tax, title and reg...model called the XETA..Well...this is the crux of this post..lol...don't you think the car in the above pic, if allowed to be sold in pakistan will break the ugly monopoly of certain auto entitites in pakistan?.It certainly did in India.I think that will be the perfect solution.Also, it will allow certain independant auto manufacturers in pakistan to avail of the resources available from across the border to improve their products.Well, the above car is now being assembled in bangladesh instead of being imported earlier!!.SAARC free trade in action??.I really don't wanna start another war!!.I shall seek refuge in my India photos thread(my ghetto) after posting this..well, another great vehicle that can break the ridiculously high SUV prices fom across the border...

indian 2,70,000 rupees=pakistani 3,80,000 rupees.
Current Pakistan made Suzuki Alto(1000cc) is for 4,19,000 rupees.

Looks alot better then Indica to me!

c123pk...the Alto is sold in India for less than the Indica...average cost INR261033 all included...it is also a size smaller than the Indica...we're talking competition and influx of competetively priced models to break monopolies and allow for product(s) enhancement through economies of scale...lol...i HAVE started another war...it is late and i wish all a good night!!...

c123pk...Adam motor should be allowed to sell the revo in India...why not??...due to the exchange rate the price should be ridiculously low, allowing for increased sales which will then give Adam Motor more income(due to the exch. rate mechanism) to enhance it's current line up and plan for future enhancements...it can work both ways!!...think about it...

Who ever buys REVO at this stage, is infact INVESTING in a better Car tomorrow. All those nice looking knobs, and dials, along with alot of electronics will be and can be available. The important thing at this time is to invest in Revo today, and tomorrow you will see your MONEY making a difference. ALTOS, TATA Indicas, Kias, Hyundais, all the cars, have gone thru this initial stage where they needed initial support from the very first buyers. I don't know if anyone remembers Hyundai EXCEL. Those were considered a JOKE in US, when they introduced them here in US in 1980s. Now Hyundai has passed thru that stage successfully and is selling top of the line cars, they are looking at beating TOYOTA by year 2020, in terms of being the top class car maker, both qualitywise and sales volume wise.

@c123pk a few posts back. We have design ideas that overcome labor costs. I want to be the one paying the highest wages for the basic labor and every job in our factory.

My philosophy is often more than merely reducing the cost of a part, but eliminating it by combining function of many parts with one part.

So, therefore, not even China can compete.

My only fear, and it is a VERY BIG ONE, is about Patent Rights in China and India. Will they respect our ideas and not steal the many many inventions in this concept? It is thes very inventions that make this possible.

Frankly, I could build this car in Detroit for $4000, but I want to do it for $3000 in Pakistan. The car will be highly desireable and set new standards for appearance and comfort for an as yet nonexisting car segment.

I do not believe people of little financial means should feel ashamed of their car. It will be the height of cool, I promise.

I think you should consult a WTO consultant how to get WTo's safegaurds and cover from copyright infringements from China and the less likely India.
Sorry to say even though china is our friend that they dont even think twice when the want to reverse Engineer something. they will most definately make the situation miserable if the get the hands on your design , because the current industrial muscle of china is next to none. I will alwayz have the cost advantage

i cannot make such fact sheet even if my CEO wants it My reply to the CEO would be something like this.

when u are building a car from scratch u need to focus on your own costs rather then start comparing with others from the very beggining. Thay have a car and we have to make a car. Big difference. we have to make perliminaries and make capital expenditures whereas they are enjoying economies of scale, No comparison.
However we can make a target to keep our costs as low as possible based on our own realities.

Relevant would be to benchmark against your best competitor and beat him either by cost saving (low price), technology, quality, innovation and what not.

so what we need to do is
identify your best competitor.
keep the target customer (Middle Class) in mind.
Check out your strengths and match them to beat the threats and exploiting the oppurtunities in market and make improvements on your weaknesses. That is called SWOT analysis.

Cost studies can be made once we have a rolling assembly line.

to sum it up, we need to focus on the car right now and make the best out of it. Paise lagan ge te cheez changi banne gee naa. This is not a time for cost comparisons agha jee.

after your blasting over the phone, i try to explain my point once again.
my point is that we need to know the product/products which are to be produced, only then can we have a capital expenditure evaluation of alternatives to manufacture. PC1 cannot be made without knowing your product to be produced.

And to select a suitable product we need to carry out a SWOT analysis. For that we need to find out our oppurtunities in the pakistani market.
we need to establish our strengths to exploit these oppurtunities.
we need to improve on our weaknesses (if any)
we need to keep in mind the threats

Apart from that all legalities and requirements of establishing an entity are to be explored.

so that is the need of the hour. My intention was to keep first things first.

feasibility about what rashid bhai, we r discussing what type of car here and a lot of input needed to make a feasibility is missing. we r looking into possibilities and if we all find some workable project, only then we can make a feasibility and PC1 and capital expenditure evaluation etc. for that project.

I am not a warmonger, nickanite. There's no doubt India has some great value for money cars, like the Indica, Mahindra etc. I have the greatest regard for facts. Truth is dearer to me than my country. I take the prices of Indian cars from www.indiacar.com ( a very good database of Indian cars, indeed). According to that website, here are the ex-showroom prices of Mumbai converted to Pakistani rupees (PKR):

'indiacar.com' is a good site but they are woefully behind the automotive times in updating their spec. sheets!!.The Indica XETA was launched at the recently concluded new Delhi Auto Expo at 2.69 lacs nationwide and dealers are delivering them as we speak.Also, the same site does not take into account dealer/factory incentives and festival discounts offered in the highly competetive indian car market!.The Alto has been made in india for atleast 6 years now and Maruti-Suzuki is looking to replace the 800 with the Alto as their lowest priced model.they offer a stripped down version minus a/c, power windows/steering and wheel covers for the same price as an 800!!.This is not shown in the website.The list price of the 800 is 205,000 plus change for the dx version in india, but you can get a discount of atleast 10 grand or more from dealers.
