What should I purchase within a budget of 40-44 lakhs: a used Yaris 1.5, City 1.5, or a Grande 2016-17?

Could you assist me in making a decision, providing your reasoning? I'm looking to purchase a car within a budget of 40-44 lakhs. I primarily drive in the city, but I also embark on 3-4 trips to the north annually. Additionally, I intend to keep the car in use for a solid 4-5 years. Could you please recommend the best options for used automatic cars within this criteria?

I am considering Yaris as it gives good fuel average and in this budget i will get less used car which i can use for 4-5 years without much hassle and repairs. I dont like city as the drive and suspension is bit hard and rough.

Last year I bought premio and loving every bit of it. Though its 1st gen. premio, but still very nice car from comfort, luxury, durability, fuel economy, etc.. its full pack option.

yaris 1.5 is the best choice...power.good fuel economy less maintainnce cost and good ground clearnce....go for it dont go for grande or other in this budget

Getting a used car is always a gamble. One can get burnt. I would recommend a locally assembled car which is supported by a 3S dealership. Imported vehicles are no doubt well made and drive better but they too will break down. You will find yourself posting on pakwheels asking for help. Picking a car from one of the three big ones (toyota, honda or suzuki) will make life easy when things go wrong.

What about an alsvin? I mean, just increased your budget a really tiny bit and you can get a brand new one too.

It got two unsolved issue one is knocking and other with DCT heat up.

Dct heats up because most people don't know how to drive with them and knocking is most probably due to bad fuel.

I don't own an alsvin just shared my suggestion.

I have also heard about the DCT high temp issue. Dont know what is the story behind that.

No heard that you need learning before driving DCT.
It happens with good quality fuel also it knock at Idle don’t know what in the world cars knocking on Idling.
Cars knocking while running is digestible thing Idle knocking is something I heard first time in 20 years of driving.

BTW way for you information on bad fuel is that my cousins and their friends went on tour to gawadar they took 4 cars all sensitive to knock Civic turbo, city, vezel and Aqua apart from Karachi they used Irani Petrol till gawadar and when they returned back and I only ask them about engine knocking to my shock they said they did not faced any sort of knocking issue with the cars just fuel average wasn’t good as regular local petrol.

Ok sir I actually can't argue because I haven't even sat in an alsvin. Owners can comment better.

And yes, dct needs to be driven in a different way. Keep a fair distance from the car Infront of you in traffic so that the clutches aren't at their bite points. This will ensure that the dct doesn't heat up. I request experts to correct me if I'm wrong.
