If i go for a bit bigger size than the stock will it affect the fuel average and other things? And which brand is good? How about Dunlop or Yokohama? Any person who's changed the tires with bigger size and the stock size? I want your reviews.
mileage will decrease a bit
Had a city aspire till 2016, go for 185 / 65/15 which I was using. Those days I bought Yokohama advan db from sheikh brothers Karachi. Now a days continentals, michelin and pireli are believed to be superior...
+1 for what @homayoon brother suggested. Having used both 195/60/r15 and 185/65/r15 on honda city, i would suggest you to go for 185/65/r15.. the effect to fuel average would be minor and you would gain in road grip and comfort too. The problem with 195's was that the steering wasn't as light as i like for a car i used during rush hours only.. just to my office and back home. Plus the fuel average took a hit too. Road grip and braking was definitely better on 195's though. See the thing is that there are pros and cons to both.. all depends on what you need from your car. I used yokohama blue earth tires on my city and they were nice.
thanks
Does it affect the suspension too? Bigger tires = stiffer suspension? City has already quite stiff suspension. Shouldn't i go for the stock size? Or If the affect on fuel average is not too much and if it won't affect the suspension too then i'll go for 185/65/r15. Currently, it gives me 11-12km/l within city and it goes upto 17-18km/l on highways.
Thank you brother. And do you still remember its fuel average, after installing the 185/65/15 tires?
185/65/15
The ride became much more comfortable with Yokohama's 185s.. them being soft tires absorbed bumps much better and the ride was way quieter compared to euro stars. That being said wider tires do put some extra load on suspension.. i noticed that with 195s.
My city (on 185/65/r15 tires) gave around 13 km/l within city (lahore) with light foot and 16-17 km/l on motorway. Only took it to motorway once though. On GT road the average given was always atleast 18 km/l. Those days i used to travel to gujranwala every other weekend and that's where the car gave the best average.. on GT road (driven at speed limit always).
This would help a lot. Thank you brother!
