Recommended is to :
1: take a mechanic with u. Trustable mechanic.
Because some bike sellers do sign language and give a hint to mechanic that they will give him money if he tells the customer to buy a specific flawed bike.
So mechanic will take money from u for going with u and u trusting him. But also from shop keeper for selling u a shitty bike.
Second best is :
Mechanic only. Whether trustable or not.
Go urself (not at all recommended)
I bought a bike myself as a rookie buyer from lahore hotel for 43000. CD 70 2008 model. I have spent almost 30000 rupess more on it replacing every part that broke and put genuine. They damn changed every inside part of the bike. Even the suspensions springs were local. Opened or tempered engine.
But if u go alone then do not hurry selecting a bike. If selected. Do not hurry in buying. Let it sink that u r gonna buy this one. What bad and good it will be in long term. What will be the first thing that will be needed to repaired.
See the color of chrome of CHINESE bikes and Honda bikes is different. Its cosmetic dhoka that shopkeepers give.
I have observed. But correct me anyone. Observed that original seals inside engine are little longer thats why we see them coming out of engine places. But if changed then smaller and we do not see te seals. Talking about CD 70 only.
So pay a mechanic 500-1000 ruppees. To save urself that 30000 i spent later fixing eery damn thing.
See for the original documents.
Check on excise taxation department vehicle search website about its registration.
Clearance certificate if available. Or at least ask whether choori ki hei ya kisi robbery mei mulawis hei yeh bike. Match the serial number etc.
Ride it and lift both hands. If bike tilts to left or right side. Thuki hui hei ya handle alignment theek krwayein. But mostly thuki hui hogi kisi accident me.
Open side covers or tappa and check whether battery is even available or they put dead battery inside with no wirings. (True story. Friend bought and after opening aide tappa. Haha. Dead battery inside with no wiring attached )
Check the odometer km and the conditions of bike match or not.
E.g. Odometer km look less but bike looks old or any part that doesnt match the overall age of bike.
Or odometer km look too much but bike looks new.
Cracks on tires. Ask whether original tyre or changed. Original are service and panther i think.
I dont know how to check carburetor
See whether the headlight chrome or aluminum inside is burnt or well conditioned. If at night. Check the focus of light bulb.
Maybe too much for u. Good luck. In sha Allah.
Never trust what a shopkeeper says.
