What type of spray to use to clean

the throttle body and the carburettor? I won't be opening them, just spraying inside with the car idling or revving a bit higher than idle..The mechanic said that they use WD-40? :o And please name the sprays and also tell as to where to buy them from? Thanks..

is your mechanic mad or what cleaning the throttle body and the carburettor with wd-40. u shuold use the CARB CLEANER spray easilt available

haha, thats why I didn't let him.. Should I use the CARB CLEANER spray the ones available at Shell Selects, the whitish can spray?.. And what about the throttle body cleaning, is it safe to use the carb cleaner for the throttle body, is it safe for the sensors I mean?

Both were same thing Bro. WD-40 is also a carb cleaner.

Well its safe but it doesnt much effective with EFI cars. Carburator main perfect hy but after that you have to clean your Spark Plugs aswell.

Use a carb cleaner avoid WD-40. It's not the same thing. It leaves a oily residue which will create more problems than it will solve.

WD-40 is not recommended for carborators... Avoid it please, it will leave behind unneeded residues, which might get mixed with the fuel. It could be dangerous.

Please advise:
The Carb Cleaner will be sprayed into the carburetur while running the engine or Switched off?

When cold, spray it inside, try to get it to the moving parts as much as possible.. let it stay there for like 10 to 20 mins..

start up the car, let the car's temp go up to about 1/4th.. rev it constantly and start spraying inside the carb.. you will see white/black kinda smoke and don't let the revs go down.. spray 3 to 4 times.. and thats it.. when you feel the engine is smooth then let it idle, stop it after 2 or 3 mins.. put the element back and you're good to go..
