Whats car generator?

my Mira 2006 stops suddenly on roads even though the battery is not old and is fully charged, machinic says "iska generator over charging ker rha hey yh change hoga"
kindly u have any idea how much will it cost ? and will it be ok if i get it changed???

it is also called Alternator.
in modern day cars when the rectifier plate / voltage regulator ( 2 different items assembled together) is damaged due to any reason the problem of under or over charging occurs.

Any competent electrician can fix that just by replacing the rectifier plate / voltage regulator either a brand new or from any scarp item. avg charge for such work is between 1000 - 1500 at max.

Get it checked by an electrician who will use a voltmeter. You can get the alternator repaired, members can give you a suggestion which option is better.

i gave my Mira car to machanic today and he said he has bought the new generator form " BOLAL GUNJJ' costs 3500.. he said he changed the belt as well Rs 400 and services charges 1500... but he didnt show me my old generator.. ab kya pta ossny change bhee kya hey ky naee now battery bhee green light show naee ker rhi.. i dont know what to do..

Now that you have changed it by the same mechanic, what should we say.

If the car stops on road, nothing to do with the battery or alternator.

If the problem persist, go to him and ask him to solve the problem, its his headache now.

In the future, change this mechanic.

Always get the work done on ur supervision.Don,t trust these idiot mechanics.
