Tata Motors has introduced new high-end variants of its Indica Vista model called the Aura+, which are now equipped with safety features like airbags and ABS. While the price for the variant the Aura+ powered with Safire MPFI petrol engine is Rs. 4,49,502 and the variant, Aura+ powered with Quadrajet Common Rail Diesel engine is priced at Rs. 5,35,328, ex-showroom Delhi. The new variants will co-exist with the current Indica Vista range of models and is rolled out from its Pune plant.
The Vista Aura+ includes with ABS, Dual front airbags, and Quadrajet engine geared with new synchromesh gearbox, Drive-by-wire technology, remote keyless entry and Blue 5 technology to make this, possibly, the most advanced car in its category. The other Indica Vista virtues remain like the super spacious interiors, dual tone interiors and the pliant ride.
It may be recalled that the Indica Vista was unveiled at the 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi. The premium hatchback, built on a completely new platform, and shares nothing with the old Indica (still sold in the market). This new version is bigger than the previous Indica; it is 3,795 mm (149.4 in) long with a wheelbase of 2,470 mm (97.2 in). The Indica Vista has two new engines, a 1.3 L Quadra Jet common rail direct injection diesel and a 1.2 L Safire MPFI VVT petrol engine. It is also available with the 1.4L TDi (Turbo Diesel). The Quadra Jet (Fiat JTD) is produced in Ranjangaon by the Tata-Fiat joint venture.
