This is just the beginning of another slew of new cars that will debut in the Indian auto market this summer and the all new BMW 5-series will be released this Friday and wild horses cannot keep me from the showroom. The ARIA and the Micra to follow. I was never a fan of the WagonR but 8.80lacs of Indians felt the need for such a car and the number is only going to grow with the intro of this model. Which brings me to the review of this car(showroom impressions).
And, the review is straightforward and simple. The only negative feature of this car is the lack of storage space in the front door panels. Other than this peeve, i cannot fault it. This car is not meant to be a design statement. It is meant to carry folks or luggage and stuff and the all new WagonR is designed to do just that. The new car is wider and taller , the rear seating is phenomenal and the engine is the new techno K-series that is small in size but high in output. Only 1000cc in capacity but feels like you're driving a 1400cc car. A full test drive and i'll lay it all out clearly for you.
The pricing is also just right. The base LX model that is equipped with power steering, front power windows and aircon retails at RS3.79lacs on the road, ex-Chennai and the top of the line VXi model with ABS and 'sport' package(ghastly side skirting and spoiler) retails at RS4.65lacs on the road ,ex-Chennai. My pick is the VXi model at RS4.30lacs on the road ex-Chennai.
