P.S. Chennai beat Hyderabad in the 2nd IPL semifinal but my life ain't any easier by far as i root for Mumbai and that won't go down well with my Chennai friends. I might need the good 'Doctor on Call' on Sunday too!.

The ad states that the vehicle comes with an ex showroom price tag of Rs. 198,000. The vehicle is powered by a 611cc single cylinder, water cooled BS III compliant engine and is mated to a Smooth cable shift gearbox and the vehicle runs on 12 inch radial tires. This car is mainly a rival to the ubiquitous autorickshaw monopolized by Bajaj and recently TVS and can carry upto six in comfort which translates into more revenue and less operating costs for the owner/operator. On the road price is expected to be RS2.10 lacs approx. and may vary slightly depending on individual state taxes.

The WagonR was just released and the Swift will start previewing in June. I have a rendering in one of my folders which is rumored to be close to the actual car. I'll find it and post it here tomorrow.I haven't forgotten.

I just remembered after seeing your post that i came across a rare Maruti Zen "Classic" abandoned rotting away in a corner of an old buildinga while ago. This is a rare car whose front resembles a BMC Wolesley or similar to give it that olde world look and was sold here in the 90's. Pity i couldn't photo the front as it was right up against a wall. Hope you like the pics!.

Mahindra & Mahindra cuts Logan prices by Rs 80,000

MUMBAI: Mahindra & Mahindra, India's largest utility vehicle and tractor maker, said on Thursday it has cut the price of its no-frills Logan sedan.

The price of the car was cut by Rs 24,000 to 80,000 to provide better value for its customers, Mahindra said.

Last Friday, Mahindra bought out its French partner Renault's 49 percent stake in the joint venture that makes and sells Logan in India.

The split was following differences over design and engineering of the Logan, and extension of the joint venture to manufacture other models. It was impossible to function with just one model, when rivals such as Maruti Suzuki and South Korea’s Hyundai Motor were launching a slew of cars to gain market share.

@nick.. im anxious abt the swift... i jst love to c these zens... there lyk the cutest cars to travel around the downtown main city... in such traffics these cars are realy help full and u arnt even bothered if these babies get a ding or a dang... but if ur new corolla gets a ding because some stupid biker... u dont get to sleep the whole nite..

So anything that competes a mehran, reasonable pricing i jst luve it... our shitty coures worth 7.29 lacks + reg costs etc+ makes around 3.75 lacks in india and u noe how many choices do u have there

Zens and 800s command reasonable prices in the used car market and re: dings and dents many use them as cheap runabouts for errands and such in urban areas. I saw a 97' 800 advertised for RS60,000 at an used car store. That's high but since the car has been discontinued, M800 used car prices have risen a bit!. Zen prices have leveled off ranging from 80,000 for a fixer upper to as high as 1.75lacs for a 2005 model, it's last year in the market.

I'm anxious about the Swift too!.

Thanks for the pics. Very soon this car could be sought out by collectors and command a premium in the market. The Zen 'Carbon' two door performance version is also rare and prices are high for a well maintained car.
