The Wagon R looks kind of squashed in the pics that you've posted. Contrast it with the Honda Jazz and you will see where I am coming from unless these cars dont compete with each other ?

The Wagon R is in a category of it's own, really. Fold the rear seats and you have a practical goods carrier, many a single entrepreneur here is grateful for. Or it can carry a family in comfort or a couple on a 'camping trip' too!. Price-wise it is in the same bracket as most of the economy hatchbacks in this market. The Jazz is marketed as a premium hatch and is in a higher price bracket. The current Wagon R is the red car in the middle in the pic below and the new Wagon R is broader with a more contemporary and 'wedgy' shape. I like it despite the front redo!. Wait for my review next week.(H)

Can you believe that all these models in the display are by Maisto?.I couldn't. These are from a toy store in Bangalore from my visit last weekend. I'll post more pics here or in the roadtrip section. Amazing stuff in that store which sells nothing but scale models!.

Dayum Nick, you got me all happy. I'm guessing you snapped those at either Sapphires on Brigade road, or Model Art? The latter has a store in Bombay, but quite far north, in the suburbs. Amazing stuff, especially the models from 'Auto Art'.

The next time you're over west, check out 'Hamleys'. The London based store opened it's first store in India right here in south Bombay.

TATA Motors has given it's notchback Indigo CS a makeover, looking very similar to the XL sedan in the front!. Price all-India ranges from RS4.02lacs to RS4.35lacs depending on emissions norms. Cities in which Bharat Stage IV emissions norms are in effect will result in a higher price for the car. Can't beat this model for price , space and equipment list. A consistent seller for TATA Motors in the market.

Following a new or refreshed car release in the market , expect a surge in sales. You can see an S with really cool wheels that made an U-Turn in front of me in previous pages and some other ones too!.

Cars will be in Chennai showrooms this weekend , hopefully. Official release to market date all-India is 23April as per Maruti-Suzuki press note.

Mate we pratically moved houses in our old Jazz and used to carry all sorts of stuff in it including large plants for the garden ! I'd be keen to see the specs and details on the type R it does look interesting.

The WagonR is a smaller car but 'cause it's a tall boy it can pack a lot of stuff in it. The Jazz too, but each are slotted in different segments in this market, that's all.

The current WagonR in pic below. Two more days and this model will drive out the showrooms for good. Expect lower prices too for the old model in the used car market.

...is not breeding contempt. OTH, i'm getting used to these cars considering i was expecting a better designed E-Class when it was introduced last year. Incentives and easier financing is translating into more of these cars on the street!. The new 5-series due 30April might change the equation again, given the fierce rivalry between Merc and BMW in the Indian auto market.

FIAT(India) Adventure
