Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) Ltd. launched the new variant of Honda Jazz, Jazz X’ on Monday, 9 August 2010. Honda Jazz X car has new variant high quality and premium features that give it stylish interiors and enhanced looks. Additionally, the audio system of model has been equipped with a USB port. Sporty looks of the car is boosted by the Alloy wheels. Fog lamps, Rear Parcel Shelf for luggage and height adjustable driver’s seat are included in other prominent features.

The Jazz X model will be accessible in various colors such as Rallye Red, Sherbet Blue, Crystal Black Pearl, Alabaster Silver, Tafetta White and Deep Sapphire Blue. Currently, music player of Honda Jazz X is compatible with USB drives. The interiors are also refreshed and now contain all-new blue-black scheme. Except for the all-new 5-spoke alloy wheels, Honda Jazz X is similar to old Jazz, which was launched in 2009. The Jazz is powered by a 1.2 litre i-Vtec petrol engine. The new variant increases premium style, interior comfort, versatile utility and remarkable performance. Price tag of the Honda ‘Jazz X’ is Rs. 7.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

During the launch, Mr Tatsuya Natsume, Director Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd said, “We are delighted to expand the choice of variants for our customers of Jazz with the new Jazz X Grade. The new variant is a result of extensive customer feedback and will offer sporty looks, enhanced interior and exterior styling, and exhilarating driving experience.”

I decided to take pics when io was driving around mainly because most of the time i was stuck in traffic snarls everywhere. Saturday is not a good day to be on the road in Chennai. ^&%$:(.Anyways, a few views of what i was doing for the most part of the day today which is staring at another vehicle's behind most of the time!

re: Honda and Toyota, Toyota is winning at the moment and with the impending Etios sedan and hatch launch Toyota might become another volume player. Not to mention that the company is doing very well right now in the six figures annually with the runaway success of it's MPV(Innova/Fortuner) range. re: diesel Altis, the car has the latest range of D4D diesel engine developed by Toyota for it's latest cars worldwide which is low capacity, high output for maximum economy. You can read about the D4D diesel by using a search engine. Honda has to do more than the Jazz if it wants to become a volume player and offer a car in the RS5-6lac range and i think it is planning to introduce an India only economy car next year. Honda displayed a concept version of this car at the 2010 New Delhi Auto Expo which you can see in my thread of the same in this website.

I would never say Suzuki is no.1 'cause Maruti morphs Suzuki's designs into it's own India specific range of cars from mere cosmetic changes to outright design changes.

Interesting fact- Comparing the Indian and Chinese auto industries, China sold 822,300 Cars/SUVs/MPVs in July 2010( source:China Automotive Technology & Research Center) versus 210,245 Cars/SUVs/MPVs sold in the Indian auto market in July 2010(source- Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers-SIAM).

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched five of its models in CNG versions with 'i-GPI' ( Intelligent Gas Port Injection) technology to promote the use of alternate fuels in the country.

The five models introduced with the alternative fuel option are compact cars Alto, Estilo and WagonR, multi-purpose vehicle Eeco and mid-sized sedan SX4.

The CNG variants of these five models are priced between Rs 3.23 lakh and Rs 7.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The i-GPI or Intelligent Gas Port Injection bi-fuel technology offers an intelligent ride. Intelligent as it ensures more power vis-à-vis retro-fitted CNG vehicles and offers a peppier ride experience at par with that of a petrol-fuelled engine, while achieving high fuel efficiency at the same time. The factory fitted CNG vehicles score very high on safety and reliability vis-à-vis the aftermarket retro-fitted options. Maruti Suzuki CNG vehicles pass through all the quality checks, processes and systems similar to a regular car manufactured at Maruti Suzuki plants and the CNG kit comes pre-fitted from factory and hence, offers customers a comprehensive package which includes full warranty.

MSIL has launched the CNG variant of the Alto, at Rs 3.23 lakh, the Estilo at Rs 4.05 lakh, while the WagonR variant will be offered for Rs 4.11 lakh. The CNG version of the Eeco is priced at Rs 3.64 lakh, while the SX4 variant will cost Rs 7.47 lakh.
