Will be my next auto mag buy. Overdrive too has an anniversary edition out this month. There's a new mag 'Car' i saw in the newsstand today.

I love the 'first' City and what has followed is bleh.This one looked nice and i didn't have time to roll the window down to get a clear shot!.

The redesigned Hyundai(India) i10 unveiled in it's mid-life cycle!. I'll check it out when the car arrives in showrooms.

At first glance you could think 'POLO with a boot/trunk' but it slowly dawns on you it ain't. Subtle design elements distinguish the front and the rear has a slant almost coupe-like which is more evident in person. The driver's seating and ergonomics is similar to the POLO but the rear is comfy and spacious designed with Indians in mind:P. Boot space is adequate and storage space inside is good. A/C vents at the rear is a thoughtful feature as one is not at the mercy of the folks upfront. You have a choice of either a 1600cc/105bhp/152Nm of torque @3800rpm petrol or a 1600cc/105bhp/250Nm of torque @2500rpm diesel engine both developed by VW. The model is available in two trims "Trendline' and 'Highline'. The 'Trendline' model costs approx. RS7.98lacs list price and the 'Highline" manual RS9.43lacs on the road ex-Chennai. For more details on performance and trim specs visit the VW(India) website.

For now till a road test, my crappy pics. It's not easy taking pics in a crowded room!.

I think so too. VW just upped the ante in this market segment. In the economy hatch segment Chevy has advertised the BEAT for RS3.50lacs and the Spark for RS2.85lacs ex-showroom in today's papers nationwide for a limited period. Expect September sales to be up for GM here.

Ofcourse, the car below is in segment of it's own.

The Vento has nothing to do with the Jetta as both are in different market segments. The Jetta continues to sell well and the new model is scheduled for mid-2011 release here. Refer post #3348.

hmm... sounds pretty good ... but this totally reminds me of honda City here :S which costs 11-12 lacs here... so this way isn't 9.4 lac for Highline model a bit expensive from indian standards??...

polo has its own charm.. i might prefer polo over it .,.

Phaeton looks OK.. somewhat boring :-# ...
