yay!. One can buy a Mini off the shelf in India from 2012 the only flip side being that initially the cars will be brought as CBUs so the price will be high but that's not stopping anyone from buying similar cars at high prices already in the market. The plus is that the car will be serviced at BMW India's already established service network. Will TATA Motors put the Prima into production?. We will find out at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo beginining Jan 07, 2012.The Prima was displayed at the 2010 Auto show. Jaguar's latest sports concept car will also be on display at the TATA stall.

Pics posted on page 237 are of the facelifted C-class. There are two trim levels and i took pics of both base and 'avant garde' model. Below is a pic of the public display of the new C-class 'avant garde' model on page 222.

I believe dollar effect will apply specifically to import cars and i haven't seen any news or web story re: the same. Most executive/upmarket cars like the A4, A6, C, E class et alia are made in India anyways apart from the slew of domestic made cars so prices are more dependant on raw material prices and taxation rather than on currency fluctuations.In fact, prices have dropped for domestic cars as you can see in this page. You can drive away a quality homemade Nissan Micra on road for RS4.2lacs with power steering, aircon, 1.5liter petrol engine, driver side airbag with accessories like wheel covers and floor mats thrown in, for example. I'm not the definitive authority in this matter and good question, though. For once.:P:)

As with the Aria concept and now the Aria MUV, the Prima looks like it is going to make it into the showroom too. Luv the SLS.

An one owner 2001 HM Ambassador' ye olde pedal to the metal' Indian classic and the only thingy missing is the HM logo on the hood in this car.Power is supplied by a 2000cc Isuzu turbocharged diesel,aircon., power steering is standard. The 'Amby' has been in continous production since 1957. This car will run over anything.

Both Ford and VW and FIAT dealers are holding sales drives this weekend. November 2011 passenger car sales have crossed 225000 units and automakers here want to push as many cars out the door in December which is usually a slow month for auto sales anywhere.

FIAT(India) is offering RS1 lac off the on-road price of the Linea T-Jet plus sedan which brings the price to Rs 8.75lacs ex-Chennai. 1st year insurance cover is also paid for. A great deal.

The car is real, it is a show car so it does not have the engine and the gear box. The rear wheels and suspension is bolted to a wooden plank which replaces the engine.

Good observation. The 2011 Ambassador Grand's dashboard is more true to the original Sir Alec Issigonis design. The Amby as it is affectionately called by Indians was designed by the designer of the Mini. Below is a pic of the current model's dashboard.

Thanks and 'tis a real car. Well, 'kids' includes overgrown ones like me too and not just 'real' kids. I dunno if the car i saw was bolted on as @Yusha says, or not 'cause i did see it move a bit when one of the 'kids' leaned on it to check out the interior. It's all real including the carbon fiber trim which i was drooling over. I love carbon fiber.
