Engine is a Ford(Germany) sourced ecosport low capacity, high output 2000cc/310bhp powermill with gobs of torque tuned by Ford Racing. Current wait time to own one is 1 year. Why?. Because the first production run of 200 cars for 2012 is sold out.:o

60K for the Avanti? I won't comment on its looks as it doesn't look the pretty but it is the cheapest supercar (looks definitely like one) out there.

The Avanti looks much better in the flesh than in my pics. My N95 phonecam is not at it's best in a closed showroom with dim lighting and the car has a gonzo engine with the latest technology and drivetrain with maximum efficiencies. I'll get much better pics of this car at the upcoming Chennai supercar show in the open light.I admit the rear could have been a bit more streamlined but then DC must have a reason for this. Well, the company is booked up for the year with deposits and he's taking orders for 2013. The car is street legal, certified by ARAI vehicle homologation agency , can be registered at your local RTO and financed through major banks too. Fit and finish is world class.

I saw a lot of Mercs on tuesday which brings me to mention that the next page will see a lot more Mercs, ...i goofed up about the 2012 Hyundai Sonata launch date which is Mar19 and not Mar13 as i thought it was. The next page will see the new Sonata too.

^^ Judging by how many three-pointed-star-sporting vehicles there are on our streets, I feel like every urban Indian family owns atleast one Mercedes Benz product. I see more Mercedes vehicles than I do Ford, or even Toyota's cowrolla (thankfully).

The Germans are on a roll in the Indian auto market. Meanwhile, the 5000th post in this thread goes to the Indian bug. Averaging 9500 cars a month in sales but still way short of it's intended volume the Nano is quietly making it's presence felt on the roads.
