What's the fuel average of honda civic vti manual 1996-2000

Hi there, I'm planning to purchase honda civic 1996-2000 model depending upon condition kindly suggest me that which variant is good like exi,vti. Is it worth buying still in 2022 as i have few options like baleno and this civic as im planning to purchase a sedan. Which will be economical in maitainence and fueling.

Manual VTI and Exi gives around 10-12 KM per liter

EXI is 1500cc while VTI is 1600cc

Just get the one which is in good condition

I have had an eagle eye civic in past and in my knowledge vti is more efficient/ fuel efficient that Exi. It runs on 12 valves if you dont push hard on it or if you are maintaining speed. It switches to all 16 valves when pushed and that's what vti is. People think its a sports feature while its a fuel saving and efficiency feature. Genuine parts will be expensive as its a honda. I have had a city and a civic. 2001 city and 2006 eagle eye civic. Both were expensive than a toyota to maintain. Toyota is expensive to buy though.
Also go for manual versions if you want reliability. Also don't buy from a younger guy lol. they think hondas are sports cars.
Baleno is an outdated car but its average is also good.
P.s. old cars are never easier to maintain. If sedan is a requirement then sure go for it but if its for shashka better go for a newer model. Just my humble opinion. Your money your choice brother. All the best.
