When is the best time to buy a car (considering resale value)

Hi, should I buy a new car (Honda city) in December or wait for January when the year changes?

• Only concern is risk of price increasing in January
• will it effect my car’s resale value if I buy in December (the year will change in a month) and sell it in 6-8 months)

What is the tentative delivery date given by showroom. Wait for delivery in mid to end January. date on invoice tells that model is 2023 or 2024 and invoice date is usually less than 1 week earlier than delivery date.

Showroom is giving car before 15th dec.
If I ask them to deliver car in January, they are not offering price lock
So, if the dollar increases the price will go up and I’ll have to pay extra lacs for the same car

That’s the gamble you have to play. Showroom sales person wants to sell the car, so he will say anything to sell it. & no one knows when price will increase or may decrease. May be price will stay the same because recently honda has reduced prices.

Bike prices have gone up recently. Reduction in cars' prices highly unlikely. Wait for the End of December and then decide. Keep in touch with Sales guy incase price increase is imminent, then buy the car immediately, otherwise wait till January.

Baqi it's dealer/investor talk and effects mostly those jo own py gari lety, model year used to be a bargain point for them but rate volatility ki waja sy ye scene b khatam ho gya ha.

aj kal used car ka buyer b samajdar ha, they'll try to bargain 30-50k at max for a comparable vehicle of january's invoice but if the older vehicle's condition is cleaner than a month newer car for the same price then of course sensible buyer won't haggle.

I'd say book the one in jan , even if price increases it'll sell more expensive , model year matters alot when selling, if you get in dec your car will be one year older in Jan according to pakistani market.

On a similar price i left a jan 2023 car for a jun 2022 car because the 2022 car had service history, was maintained by 3s dealership and intact warranty. The other one had just one oil change from dealership rest there was verbal talk of expensive oil from outside without any record.
