When to change gear oil

DEAR FRIENDS,

I have 04 Santro. its mileage done around 70000kms. i don't know whether its gear oil changed or not in past. Apprarently car has no problem in gear transmission or any sort of . suggest should i change the gear oil or let it run.

waisay my altis was bought in march 2006 nd is now 26000 kms driven,should i change my gear oil aswell??

Have I EVER EVER EVER heard of someone's car dying because they didn't change their transmission oil? Have I ever heard of a rear differential dying for lack of oil change? Oh please!!!!

I would say that if you're not griding the gears all the time then don't worry about it. Worst case scenario, change it once during the life of the vehicle, which maybe fits your situation at 100k Kms. But are you even gonna keep it for it's whole life? Really, they just love to scare you into doing things that you don't really need.

sir jee gear oil change karna zaroori hota hai coz with time oil mein woh baat nai rehti its not tht oil gets dirty or nything likun it jus loses its properties 2 lubricate properly!y du u think ppl say don use petrol station ka khula oil coz thts jus oil plain oil it doesnt have the properties 2 lubricate properly coz its lost it all khulay mein reh reh kar!dats y ppl say once uve used ur oil can n agar aus mein kuch bacha wa ho tightly seal the cap takay no moisture gets in!well i changed my gear oil yesterday 36k par n its made hell lot of difference shifting has become smoother n gear lagnay mein b problem nai kar rahi aab!n last of all its even recommended by the company tht wenever u drive in monsoons n the water level is above the axel after monsoons r over replace ur gear oil coz thora bhoohat paani indar chala jata hai n u even know what happens when water n oil mix!
yar matc tum neh bari ajeeb baat ki hai keh no need of replacing it!yeh toh wohi baat hui u have teeth they wont fall off if u dont brush bas subah shaam kurli kar leeya karo why brush n waste money on brushes and toothpastes they jus fool us into buying em scaring us keh daanth ghir jaingay likun phir jab baad mein daanth ghirtay hein then we r like abbay yar!same case with cars and gear oil etc etc!

If you consult aome army driver person or some Desi Mechanic thy say that Gear Oil as old as good for Transmission.

yes ive heard auto transmissions going ruined for not changing the oil upto 120k

and as far as the diffrrentials of RWD cars are concerned

my own merc 123 has a sound in the diffrential
mechanic says that it happened due to some oil problem in it
