Hello,
Have some basic questions:
My Khyber 1996 model car has maximum speed of 80 in 4th gear (if I press full accelerator), the car does not go up than this speed. Is that a problem? Or previous owner might have fixed it for better fuel consumption? <---The CNG settings might be too lean. Also, get the ignition system checked, and repair/replace where necessary. It should go to 120 km/h in 4th both on petrol and CNG.
What's the best way to shift from petrol to cng or from cng to petrol in such a way that both do not mix in carborator?<---from petrol to CNG, place the switch in the middle position, keep a very light accelerator. As soon as the car loses power and starts jerking, switch to CNG. Don't let it jerk for too long.
From CNG to petrol , you can shift it directly.
Can we shift from fifth gear to third gear directly or from 4th gear to 2nd gear? <--yes, but this will wear out the clutch more if you don't rev match. It's not that difficult, you will be smoothly rev matching with a week of practice.
When and how to change car/engine's oil? If any one can tell me for Khyber car? <---Change oil and filter every 5k km or 4 months, whichever comes first. Don't get it drained from through the machine commonly present in petrol pumps; drain it from below the car through the sump. The car engine should be fairly warm so that the oil can be drained more easily.
You will need a new washer for the oil pan drain bolt each time, either aluminium or copper. Aluminium is disposable, while copper can be heat treated (normalizing aka annealing) and re used. The exact tightening torque for the bolt is 35 N/m, 3.5 kg/m, or 25.5 lb/f; don't bother too much if the shop doesn't have a calibrated torque wrench.
You should get a torque wrench though, its a very useful tool for DIYs.
You will also need a new oil filter o ring. The oil filter should be tightened slowly until it contacts the o-ring, then tightened a further 3/4 of a turn.
I'm new to driving.. Please guide.
Thanks in advance.
