I was suggested to check private dealers selling GS150 SE for 125k to 135k.
Retail price of GS150: 143k cash, 12 month installment 55k down payment
Retail price of GS150 SE: 163k cash, 12 month installment 70k down payment
So I went looking. One dealer was selling new GS150 for 115k cash (27k less) on a special two day discount. Second for 125k cash with a free dryer/microwave/fan. Third with their own workshop for 134k cash final with a helmet. Invoice was available for few bikes and he told me that I can even get bike number in an hour.
They were all giving same Suzuki 6 month 6,000km warranty. Registration papers arrive in around 2 weeks.
I told last dealer about 115k price and he said their is not this much margin they could be selling a used bike with meter reversed, or their can be some other problem. I wanted to buy a black 2018 model, only red was available so he offered me to replace its tanky with black one. That sounded equally fishy. So I left without buying.
I have never bought a new bike myself so my questions are following:
- What to look for when buying a new Suzuki GS150?
- Should I buy from a dealer or from a Suzuki's own showroom?
- 115k is really an attractive price and way to low then retail price but can it be a fraud, should I buy it?
- How can dealers sell at prices this low, why so much difference?
