Where to buy ABS for ALTO VXR and how to install

Does any one has idea about how to install and from where should i buy the ABS for Alto. The brakes of alto are very unreliable so i will love to have ABS in my alto.

As far as i know it is impossible to install ABS, if u want to enjoy then buy any other car which has ABS installed in it, like SWIfT, LIANA Lxi, Corrola GLI etc

thanks for the reply. Yes i can enjoy the liana or swift's ABS but i am intrested in installing it to my alto VXR as i also have installed power steering and power window in it.

Which Swift comes with ABS?

The Japanese Alto comes with ABS, I don't see why this can't be installed. It would definitely require a good technician though.

I do understand its not as easy as it looks (power windows and steering is relatively easy).

Why don't you go instead with 4 Wheel Disk Breaks? I think they will improve your breaks alot.. like ALOT. See if its possible.

^^the local alto vxr never came with an abs. Although the japanese version came with abs but do remember that only the shape is common between the two, engine is very difference (pak alto has 1980s sj410 engine technology, jap alto has a relatively much modern one with very different setup).
Even if you find abs or airbags of the Japanese alto it would not be easy to install them in the local vxr as installing airbags/abs+ebd is quite complicated and involves adjustment of sensors ,ecu, etc,etc.
Even is u find them my guess is most mechanics wont be able to install it.

actualy i havent come across a carby car wid an ABS,,, so em guesiing it requires an ECU to or u need to a EFI car to have a ABS (correct me if im wrong)

good question. Well I think the reason to assume so is cause carby cars have not been used in the world after the late 1980s-early 1990s (excluding Pakistan of course where carby is still the norm in 2010)..back then such technologies were hardly used and were in their initial stages.

The first car to have ABS fitted as standard was the Ford Granada Mk 3 (1985-) so I guess it does not require an efi.

Although you can install ABS of japanese Alto, Do remember that if a car is not having stock ABS then adding aftermarket one would never be the same and/or reliable as original factory fitted. Just look for a car with good brakes, or how about a car with factory fitted ABS.

^ Very true. There might even be a serious risk of malfunction. The jdm alto ABS was made for the jdm alto 0.66L car not the Pakistani 1.0L(fitted with 1980s era carby sj410 engine). The shape might be the same but technically speaking, the two cars are miles apart.

Bro i dont think ABS is such a part which can be installed after market, Bcoz ABS is designed 4 a particular car,its nt tht u buy one and install it.. It contains a computer chip whch at lightening fast speed checks pressure of braking applied at each tyre.. if a tyre is skidding, it lowers the braking pressure 4 tht tyre and may increae the pressure 4 the tyre which is gripping properlly, thus it helps u control ur car while driving in rain or dirty roads etc... So Many things matter, wheight, size, tyre width, grip, braking power.. after considering many things of a car that Computer chip in programmed so that car provided max. braking control without skidding...
I dont think u can get this done by any machenic?? I maybe wrong bt this is wht i knw ebt this...
