Thanks for mentioning Moda, doing literature review about it now. Will it be possible to find good JDMs in market on your opinion?. Have absolutely zero JDM experience and imports have been down for quite sometime also so that worries me.

I intend to lease an automatic hatchback zero meter for my father in a couple of weeks. Please guide which will be the best option.

My suggestion is to go for either Kia Picanto (preferable) or PKDM Suzuki Celerio / Cultus.

AGS Wagon R may be avoided.

Unfortunately we only have 03 options (as far as I know), when it comes to PKDM 1000 cc automatic hatchbacks, so we have to choose between only these.

I you can manage to self import one, preferably with auction grade 4-4.5, or above, and know, how to manage / handle JDMs, then these can be considered, but again, since you are gifting it to your father, not a good ides to consider them, due to multiple reasons:

1. No warranty
2. No local support
3. Difficult and expensive availability of spare parts, mostly in used condition, and mostly from scrapyards
4. Local mechanics are unable to understand their even basic issues, so if any problem will arise (GOD Forbid), then it can become very painful for you and your father, to go for the resolution of issues.

Etc... Etc...

So, in a nutshell and to conclude, as you will be gifting car to your father, do not consider any JDM!

Then on second cultus.
Cultus AGS should preferably be avoided as well?

Nope. It has proper automatic transmission (no AGS), that's why I preferred it.

I my self have a father crossing 65 this year alhamdulillah. So I can relate to your concerns.

He is also very comfortable in a hatch back maneuvering around. He gets uncomfortable going around in a diggi wali car and is hit from one or another corner everyday.
