1.6 / 1.8 vs 1.3 would give better fuel economy with AC on highway, due to better power to weight ratio.

First, on which highway u want to drive ur car 140+ with AC on? Motorway has limit of 120kmph, mostly highways are either 80 or 100kmph.

off course 1.8 is definitely lighter on fuel on highway drive....with or without AC

Altis will give good fuel average at this speed. At low speed, in city and rush, 1.3 is way better.

At 140+? Nothing gets good mileage at high speeds, given that the aerodynamic drag increases as a squared function of the speed.

define way better plz...an average 1.8 AUTO returns 11 km/l with or without AC, summers or winters within city drive with light or slightly heavy foot....im sure manual 1.8 can do a bit better....so 1.3 xli/gli will do like 15 KM/l under same circumstances?

Fuel average is highly variable and dependant on a number of parameters. I'm able to achieve your quoted figure with an Altis CVTI in comparitively congested traffic. Achieving 11 km/l figures for a 1.8 Auto ECT entails driving in much better conditions (smooth traffic, less braking and little to no idling). Taking aforementioned conditions into account, 1.3 Manual will definitely return figures of around 14 km/l, as a bigger capacity engine takes a heavy toll during idling/ congestion, stop and go traffic.

Ur getting 11 out from an auto altis 1.8? U talking about the 2006-7 right? I nvr got more then 10 in local. Yes on highways/motorways it used to do 14/15 type with 130kmph type speeds but i nvr got more then 10 in local with light foot.

I hope his corolla does because under my use, altis was the same fuel guzzler as my civic exi prosmetic may be making 1kmpl better average but not more in any way

it goes 436-440kms in a tank full which takes 39-40 ltrs every time...

If i rmmbr correctly, isent the fuel tank of 55 litres of altis? U hav manual or automatic?

its auto...and i fill it up when fuel light turns on..

In a 55 litre tank, 15 litre cant be for reserve. Do recheck it on ur next refill of how much quantity ur pouring inn
