No idea what model you had, but I have owned one from 2002 till 2015, very relaible, very well built, drove it 200k kms without any major work, went from Kalam to Multan, was very spacious, decently comfortable and properly planted.
Have another in the family, that's a first owner 2001, not a single plastic piece broken, done over 200k kms.
Had another 2005, an absolute flawless vehicle.
Maybe the vehicles you had were the late models or just lemons, but they aren't half as bad as you make them sound.
As for the swift giving decent mileage, thats only by hypermiling, otherwise it's a fuel guzzler, the auto is a guzzler even while driving normally
