Which Car to buy ? Honda Civic (Which Variant) or Toyota Corolla (Which Variant)?

Hello Guys,

I just would like to get some info as I am new to Lahore and looking for a car (used) either Honda civic or Toyota Corolla.

Would need help as my budget restricts me till 3.0mil or max 3.2mil but in this offer I am literally confused between these two cars and their models (variants).

Could you kindly guide me for which one to go for and what to look into ??

hiya

depends on your usage, driving style, environment and road type.

for urban driving, for greater ride comfort, prefer the imported ones. do note that maintenance and parts are a hassle.

hondas are a tad bit more comfy, and performance wise superior, but their maintenance is that much costlier.

toyotas are overall more reliable, with softer suspension, and a forgiving engine that can take a bit of punishment.

Well I'll mostly be driving in city only or once a month on highway (motorway).

I was thinking for going Imported one as per Japanese cars but I heard their parts are not available that easily in the market, that's why wanted to go for a local brand.

My main requirement or should I say basic is just a neat car with automatic gear and which has good driving experience as it'll be a family car.

I got so much confused in these 2 band car variants that's why need some help.

Hondas are much better suited for city traffic, and larger engines pay dividends on motorways.

Locally made cars are good, but their build quality will not be as good as the imported ones.

Got kids? Toyotas are a bit rugged, hondas are a little bit dainty.

As for auto gears, have heard great reviews about both toyota and honda. Stay away from nissans at all costs.
In the cvt branch, only toyota. Even honda cvts are problematic.

My recommendation? Go for any 1.6 corolla or 1.5 city. Civics are performance oriented, no need for them as a family car.

If you want to include imported ones, 2000s priuses, camrys, accords, lancers, etc are also good. But ill recommend you stick to local ones if you are not familiar with the market.

Lastly, have your target car inspected by pakwheels before purchase. Saves you from quite a few hidden landmines people tread over when buying cars.

As for the imported one's, yes I don't think i'll go for it as I am totally not familiar with the market.

Would 100% get the car inspected by them but before that need to know which one

I would suggest getting the 1.8 Grande over any other car. You wont regret. Try to find a clean model maintained by toyota.
Civics win for their looks but the seats arent that comfy, had some quality issues which might be imminent as they age.

Yes i would recommend getting the facelift grande, above 17. In 2018 there was a silent feature addition in already facelifted 2017 models. So minimum get a 18 model. Clean. As per your budget.
If not 18, then 17 is good enough too.

If you buy one in good condition , it won't make any work even for years . Get it inspected by Pakwheels . You basically need to see condition of engine , suspension, and electricals.

In between a budget of 3 to 3.5 million , I will suggest you hilux 2005 model imported one and Prado 96 to 99 model . Both are very good , reliable Suvs. You can consider them zero maintenance vehicles except routine maintenances like oil change etc.

grande has pathetic ass seats with no comfort what so ever.
they are hard and not comfortable i've had recurring back aches bcz of it.
Civic has much better seats, they are wider and more roomy, gives much better back support.
