Which Car to Take for best fuel Average

Dear Brothers

We have planned a trip to Karachi-Lahore-Nathiagali and return in the same way by road on the 20th Dec 2019, InsAllah.

We are a family of 4, this road trip will be total 12 to 13 days.

I have 3 options of vehicle to choose from. But want the best fuel average. Last year for the same no. of days i went and took Toyota Revo 2018 Auto 3.0L Diesel and total fuel cost was 45,000PKR, which on the other hand my friend took his family with us in Honda Civic 2018 Auto 1.8L Petrol, fuel cost 29,000 PKR. This time i wanna save on petrol so which one to choose from below.

1) TOYOTA REVO 2018, 3.0L Diesel. Automatic.
2) HONDA CIVIC ORIEL 2018, 1.8L Petrol. Automatic.
3) TOYOTA COROLLA Xli 2019 1.3L Petrol, Automatic

I am people are more experienced here so your advice will help me in many ways. Please feel free to enlighten me.

XLI is auto and does not has ABS brakes that's my concern.

out of these Civic is better option... its fuel eco is also good on long drive...

Then just take the 1.8 Civic, because Xli is going to be sluggish on the highway due to its engine size, also it won't have ABS, Automatic variant is even slower.

Civic will be twice as fast than Xli and you'll save your time on reaching your destination, faster than if it was on Xli. Sure it will be more expensive in terms of fuel, petrol prices will be different than last year.

Take Civic on highway not much difference in fuel economy of XLI & Civic.

I guess Karachi -Lahore highway area is not enjoyable...anyone knows the road condition? If motorway would have been there, civic all the way

Civic 1.8 will give you the maximum mileage keeping speed 110 km/hr as constant for all three cars.

I'm not aware of the route. Anyone's initial expectation of a motorway would be a nice spotless road. Hard to believe if it's a broken motorway.

I haven't ever traveled in that motorway. I'm sure you have traveled there and is well aware of its road condition. If it's really bumpy and full of potholes then I would NOT advise you to take your Civic, as the suspension will be doomed, let alone the painful noise coming in the cabin while moving over the potholes; the driving the experience will be highly unenjoyable.

Maybe, if the motorway is uneven to that extent. Then I would advise you to take your Xli instead. Sure it'll be slow but it'll save your fuel and will go over the uneven surface with ease and you won't damage your underbelly of your car due to its high ground clearance.

Civic is way better in terms of fuel efficiency, when i'm travelling on my civic X on motorway at 120 with cruise control on , the RPM is exactly at 2.1 , engine is totally relaxed , with Xli automatic small 1.3 engine must work hard to maintain that speed on a heavy vehicle , as can be witnessed by the Rpm it should be above 3 .
