Which car wax is goog (carnuba or turtle wax)

Well the thread seems to be going towards really high end stuff when someone can spare quite some money for something like a car wax........... anyways has anyone tried the new range of stuff from guard the filter company ........ there are some car wash n wax and liquid wax also available.... wondering if they are any good.....

its all about passion and the love for your car..i spend most of my money buying stuff for my car every month..it makes me feel content when i see people praising my car..mashAllah
as for the guard products..their filters are pathetic to be honest..and with that regard i wouldnt feel hesitant to say that their new line of car detailing products would be the same.
spending 1500 2500 once every 2 3 months on your car's wax is not a bad deal at all..its a good investment..but if you want to settle for something cheap, buy turtle.its atleast better than kosmic or 55 or whatever

Yeah but then the market in karachi is very different, very fast.. where cheaper products are preferred and people are less involved in taking care of their cars IMO.. In case you do come across a few enthusiasts upcountry, you can source them from Karachi.. But of course there's no pressure.. just presenting some points in favour of it for the sake of discussion..

I suggest you use Meguiar's, i tried it myself and i was very satisfied with the result. Try it out bro, i wasnt really that impressed with turtle wax, and he's right, carnuba is an ingredient whereas turtle wax is a company itself.

Hey bro. I need some guidance. I bought Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Paste wax. I applied it on my Vitz which is Pencil Gray Colour. I washed it thoroughly with Formula 1 Wash and Wax and then dried it. After that I applied the Wax and took it off with a Micro Fibre towel. There wasn't any difference in Shine actually rather the Wax just made the surface Smooth. Any suggestions that do I need to apply Meguiars Polish or Compound or something else first? Please help !

Compound and Wax are different things.
Compound is shiny layer on paint which is already applied by car company after painting the car. It is very long life.
Wax is used to make upper most layer of car smooth and shiny. It is removed after 3 or 4 car washes.

Wax helps to easily remove dirt and mud from car surface while cleaning with cloth and washing the car.
Actually Wax is applied on upper most layer of compound.

Some old cars lost their compound after regular washes with detergents acid rains or some other reasons. Surfaces of such cars do not remain shiny and becomes dull. In short no reflection of objects and light can be seen from car's upper most shiny layer. In such cases you can apply compound to the car. But applying compound needs special procedure (Using buffs).

This is all I know about Compound and waxes.

I am regular user of Formula1 and Kangroo Cosmic (Korean) Waxes.
Yesterday I Picked up Soft99 wax which is double in price as compared to Formula and cosmic.
When I applied Soft99 (Original made in Japan) wax on car. I was amazed as it gave more than double result as compared to Formula and cosmic.
I liked it. Really make my car much more shiny as compared to Formula and Cosmic.
I have never used Meguair's but I know that it is best brand of car care products. Because I have heard about Meguairs from every car lover.

Sorry to say but you are wrong here. Compound is used to cut a very thin layer of the clear coat. What you are calling shiny is that the old layer of the paint is removed and the new one comes out that gives a fresh and shiny look to the car. Compounds are to be done once in a six month/year because eventually you tend to remove the paint on the car. Compounds are mostly done to remove swirls, dirts and scratches whereas Wax are used to protect the paint and give it a shiny look.
