Promises promises! Alfa has been threatening to come back here to the US for decades, man, but nada so far.
The plan had been for the 159 and/or Brera to be the "comeback kid" for the States. This was a definite when GM was in bed with Fiat, which, as you know, owns Alfa. But since the bitter divorce earlier this summer, GM would no longer be the host distribution chain for the US market. I cried all night. Then, lo and behold! Alfa gets aligned with Maserati which is under Ferrari now and all Ferrari dealerships sell Maseratis since they too are under Ferrari...so I went to the Ferrari/Maserati dealership 2 miles from my house where I used to get my 1967 Ferrari Dino 206 serviced years ago (I really miss her), but they didn't even know that Alfa was under Maserati now...So who knows?! We can only hope.
One thing is certain, though, I am going to bring a Brera over in late '06 myself...I am smitten.
