i bought kenwood 1220s dc inverter yesterday from faisalabad, it claims T3 but on indoor unit T1 is written. Please share if kenwood advertise wrong about 1220s model. Outdoor unit has no information about T1 or T3.

Exactly same happened with me, I bought 1220s and it was written T1 on it, but I saw 1820s in market and it was written T3 on it. I think they are doing false advertising to attract customers.
However cooling of this AC is excellent so far and its performing well in Lahore heat.

For how much you bought it and hows your experience so far?

It was really hard to find but cost 65k from universal electronics Faisalabad and the shopkeeper also claimed that its T3. If they advertise false then 7 star and EER 4.0 is also doubtful. Its really sad if kenwood is selling with wrong specs.
i didn't installed yet, currently using 0.75 ton 24 hours a day and max units per month is 300 to 320. I will surely share feedback in coming days.

According to my research there are two types of compressors used in DC inverter ACs, Tropical Compressor and Brushless DC Compressor, This AC has tropical compressor according to specs. T1 T2 and T3 is climate class and its different from compressor technology I think. I'll send an email to Kenwood to clear this issue.

About consumption when cooling is achieved it consumes 480 - 550 watts on 28c, Ampere varies due to voltage and in my area voltage is usually low at peak hours around 180Volts, so it takes around 2.8-3A which converts to ~550Watts. And if 230 Volts are coming it takes around 2.2A which converts to same wattage. But I've not seen it go down below 480 Watts.

On turbo mode it consumes Max 1600-1700 watts ~8 Amperes in start and gradually comes down to 500 watts.

There is an ECO mode which is only available in mobile App and not on AC remote, if you turn ON ECO mode, it will never go above 800watts and saves electricity.

There are two more features which are only available in mobile app. you can vary temperature by 0.5c and set fan speed to mute.

I've been using it on 28.5c all night on ECO mode and it consumes around 3units in 8 hours.

I'll suggest you to attach energy meter with your AC and monitor power consumption yourself for few days to get an idea about its performance.

Your explanation helps but the enigma is that I actually bought this 1220s assuming that it would save me some power in terms of total unit on top of the fact that it would be the one having a T3 compressor (as the place where I live, there's very little ventilation and hot air gets trapped which makes my window AC trip a lot while it loses its cooling efficiency).

Based on your estimates (included the so-called added benefits of ECO mode), the total power consumption would be around 9 kWh per day, which equates to 270 units per month. Comparing that with my current window AC consumption of around ~300 units, I'd say it's not a big saving and Kenwood is doing some dirty tricks to sell their stuff.

I'm not surprised because in Pakistan, most franchise associations and contractors, with whom these multinational companies go to bed with, don't leave any opportunity to rip off the Pakistani consumers as there are little to no consumer protection laws here.

Yes, you are right about bad practices of these companies in Pakistan, they do false advertising and everything, I searched for this AC everywhere in Lahore but couldn't find it, I bought this one from CSD for 68k which was last display unit. I was shocked to see T1 written on it but still bought it because of good reviews and wifi features.

One more thing I noticed, Kenwood claims to be a UK company but user manual of remote control of this AC is so badly written in English that you are not able to understand anything about special functions (health, fungus proof, etc) also this remote is exactly same as remote of Orient eComfort AC only brand logo is changed. Which made me thinking that these Chinese companies might be using same electronics inside all these ACs.
Also there is no backlight in remote which makes it really hard to operate in dark room.

But i'm impressed with cooling capability of this AC so far, This is 1 ton AC and it performs better than 1.5 ton (non dc) Orient AC that I'm using in other room. My room (143 sqft) is on top floor and get direct sunlight on ceiling and one wall all day and this AC performs good. It cools down my room within 15 minutes.

Kuch din pehlay liya hai Kenwood KEE1845s Eeco Plus. Behtareen machine hai cooling behtareen aur energy saving as well. Power consumption review kiya hai ek dafa dekhain.

Dear Customer,
Sticker on the unit may show T1 because of the stickers being somewhat generic. You can check the compressor through its performance.

Let me share my experience no T1 or T3 thingy. I recently bought Kenwood E optima 1.5 tons. and the first day of its operation was 1 week back when heat was on its peak in Rawalpindi. The room in which i have installed the AC is literally a tandoor. It gets heat from roof 2 side walls starting with sunrise till sun set.

The room temperature on the remote was 44 C and the AC was finding it difficult to lower the temperature. IT took the poor chap whole 5 hours to make it down to 28C.

I didnt knew about the T1 or T3 aspect of compressor. Now with this thread and some research on net, it is evident that T1 is rated to work upto peak temperature of 42 to 43 C.

So, in my opinion, Yes kenwoods at least, do have T1 compressors.

since the last week, when temperature graph is somewhat lower than that two day extreme in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, AC is working like charm.

I am using kenwood 1220s from few days, the lowest i'm getting is around 2.8Amp and the highest is around 6Amp. Room size is very small only 8x8 only (hostel single bed). I don't know how people claiming less then 2.0. The technician also said that it is T1 and same as other brands using.

Minimum I've seen my 1220s is on 480 Watts on 28c temperature. Which is 2.1A on 220V
remember Amperage depends on voltage as well, if 180 volts are coming in your area AC will draw 2.8 Amperes for same power output.
