Which engine is better EXI or VTI

and yes.. Honda Civic EXi 2001-2006 has D15Y3 engine in it!

and Civic EXI 1997-2000 has D15Z4 and it produces 105hp @5800rpm!!

yaar wtf. D16w9 is present in 02-05 models. its the same engine that same models in middle east and KSA are powered wid (source wikipedia). D16Y8???? dont know about that. my civic's 02 vti or pros's engine numbers start wid the digits D16W9----- which are written in bigger lettters.

yes bro u r rite..i shud haf searchd before..but i m a new member of p.w dats y i dont knw dat dis has been discussed before several times..but even after dat much disscussion u still even dont knw abt d15 & d16 engines..2ndly as u said dat exi & vti came in 1996 so it isnt obvious dat da disscussion wud b made or not..as bmw is using valvetronic since 2001 so it is also obvious dat discussions wud be made regarding valvetronic but i dont fine any discussion abt it..even honda is making i-CTDi engines from 2006 so it is obvious dat discussions wud be made abt it also but i dont find any post regarding it..bro having common sense isnt enuf but using it in rite way & in rite time is necessory..have a nice day broo :)..

Yaar main ne (Phly baar) iss liye kaha tha ke app keh rhe the naa ke some ppl say that VTI comes with b16 DOHC ..... to is liye im saying that ke phly baar suna hai ....

baki app thek keh rhe hain bhai no offense... :)

vti is much better than exi i have 2005 exi an 97 vti vti rocks it can easily beat ma 05 civic

Yes the VTI produces 130 hp and EXI that comes with D15Y3 SOHC NON VTEC engine produces around 118 to 120 hp so there is 10 to 12 hp difference well mostly 10

EXI is better than VTI in acceleration due to it being non vtec till 80 to 90km/h because you get full power immediatly out of EXI which is 120 hp in a vtec engine you will get less hp than EXI until the vtec engages when the vtec engages than it get more power than non vtec engine than vti overtakes exi vti has 10 more hp compared to exi in 7 th gen variant in Pakistan.
