EXI lo ya VTI .... kiya koi 100 rupe ka faraq pare ga consumption main ????:S aur mere couzin k pas VTI hai aur mere pas EXI hai..... us ki 90 km krti hai 55 ke cylinder main cng pe in City..... aur meri 95 se zaida krti hai..... the difference between VTi and Exi is the engine.
VTi has a 1600 cc VTEC
Exi has a 1500 cc non-VTEC
VTi has a d16 whereas Exi has a d15

VTi uses half the cylinders at low RPMs whereas Exi can't do that. so VTi gives better mileage too.

They are using VVT-i in XLI/GLI, Yaris, Altis etc - Dual VVT-i in Mark X, Camry etc - Valvematic in Corolla's new 2L engine outside Pakistan which produces 158bhp (2.0L V4) - VVT-iE in Lexus LS, GS, New Crown etc, VVTL-i only in 2ZZ-GE (Celica, Corolla G Fielder), D-4D in Land Cruiser, Hilux - D-CAT in Lexus IS 220 d, HSD in all hybrid vehicles.

i'l tell u why

yaar dekho.. as far as Civic 1.6 and 1.8 were compared!! Civic 1.6L is 127hp and Civic 1.8L is 140hp

khair civic 1.8 to beech mein hai he nai.. leave that

Civic 1.6L is D16Y8 which is VTEC... VTEC has been discussed above in detail so no need to go over that!

Civic 1.5L is D15Z4 which is NON-VTEC... all the valves work! all the time! not much economic i guess*

yaar in simple words.. VTEC ka faida hai yeh ke jab ap 3000rpm ke under rehte ho to only 8valves open and when u rev above 3000rpm all 16v open.. and when u go beyond 5500rpm the valves open more and more efficietly (aka VTEC KICK)... this is much more economic than EXI only when u shift before ur rpm crosses 3000rpm..

and if u want to race or something.. the pedals under ur foot.. press it and ENJOY! Power plus Economy in a Smart Way Honda all the way VTEC (y)

my two cents:

ignoring the power output, consumption and the displacements, any of the two will be as good as the other if the car is driven 98 percent of the time in the following same manner: no hard accelerations, no uphill climbings etc etc. cuz exi's engine is fit too for everyday driving and doesnt have the vtec cuz its supposed to be a cheaper motor.

vti comes in handy when driving in extreme conditions and does some fuel saving and extends the life in varying engine running conditions and also extracts more power from the engine at different rpm ranges.

paki civics have the D16W9 ivtec engine in the 02 to 05 models which produces 130 hp. dunno about the exi motor in the same model. n ppl say its B16 in the vti models which i dont fink is true cuz thats a DOHC engine.

Yes Civic Vti Engine models

VTI 1997-2000: D16Y8 127hp

EXI 1997-2000: D15Z4 ? :S

VTI 2001-2006: D16W9 ? :S

EXI 2001-2006: NO idea sorry

VTI 2007 - present: R18 140hp

and B16 factory fitted only comes in EK4 and EK9 i guess :S

and these models are not avalible here!!

Theres no factory fittted B16 in Vti ..!

The models r as i've mentioned above!
