Which Engine Oil is best?

What about using synthetic oils in bikes specially GS-150 and also what is the recommended oil grade for GS150

In two stroke bikes oil is used in two location .

I am confused about which of these two locations is gear oil and which is engine oil, and their functions.

Please also somebody tell the manufacturer recommended oil grade to be used at both locations for a yamaha 2-stroke.

its not neceesary that a Hoghly priced Oil is good for ur bike or car
kindly check ur need n type of oil needed

Yup u can used Synthetic oil in ur bike & the recomended oil grade if GS150 is 10W-40.

Gear oil is used in Engine Chamber while the Two stroke lubrication oil shud be put into Bottle usualy placed in side the right side cover (Tappa). The recomended Oil for Dear box is usualy 20W-40 How ever 10W-40 or 20W-50 can also be used.

The two stroke oil which i used in my bike back in 90s was Caltex's Revtex 2T I m not sure that it would be available now & the 2nd best choice was the Shell Advance 2 (Green Bottle).

2. What should be drain interval in case of synthetic oil.

I am currently using Caltex 5-star 20w-40 in gear box as you mentioned in some topic. Some time I use Shell Advance sports (blue bottle) and once I used shell SAE 40 (in .7 litre pack yellow bottle).

For side oil I am already using Shell Advance S2 green bottle that is also JASO FB.
Caltex's Revtex 2T is not available here.

Just for an experiment please tell me what would happen if I use ZIC A or some other semi/fully synthetic oil in my bikes gear box. Would it be harmful or good or excellent.

XADO Atomic Engine oil is the best one among others. Why? because:

Mobil is the best of them all in 20W50. Zic 10W40 is a new arrival, haven't checked it yet, might be a good one though.

I was looking for some good quality oils especially made for motorcycles and finally got this one from Liqui Moly.Did'nt find any synthetic oil in API-SG that is especially made for motorcycles, from big brands like mobil1, AMSOIL. Liqui moly etc. Though the market is filled with synthetic oil for cars but bikers are left alone.

I am planning to use it for atleast 2000 - 2500 kms. Though its not synthetic but for normal cruising I think it will survive quite easily for that period.

any suggestions ?

Zic is the best one I have used in my FZR, engine gives an entirely different feel with this oil in the working.

Its also called Zipex, I think its 10W40, try it in your bike, its good one.

Thanks for that. Previously, I thought of using zipex and also searched for it on web and in market, but after seeing LIQUI MOLY I couldnt think of anything else. Hope it would perform according to company name and my expectations.I may give ZIPEX a try after consuming bottles of LIQUI that I bought.

I forgot whether ZIPEX is synthetic or mineral base. ZIPEX also has a uniqueness that one of its oil, that is packed in red labeled bottle is also perfume added . I dont know whether it will have any effect on its sale or not, but it seems quite strange.

One thing more.CALTEX or SHELL oils always have an irritating smell as they are burned or recycled even when I purchase them from big pumps. But when I smelled CASTROL Active 4T and LIQUI oils they have a smell of fresh oil that is quite different from CALTEX/SHELL. Dont know whether its due to additives or some base oil difference.

^ Thats nice. I never tried smelling the oil Yes Liqui Moly is a big name but not available in my city. I'd surely give it a try InshAllah.
