I have a Toyota Passo 2010 with 2014 import. i was wondering as general which oil should be used for a car which has150k mileage or above. some people have suggested to use thicker oil like 20W50 instead of 10W40 or 10W30.
nope, if engine health is fine and not reducing oil, stick to 0w20 else 5w30 if its reducing even on 5w30, you can try 10w40 etc
there's no reason to switch to thicker oil just because car has clocked more miles
If engine health is perfect, go for 5w-30 only, else if; 10w-30 and at max. 10w-40.
In all cases, oil should be fully synthetic, with latest API SN / SN Plus, and / or ILSAC GF-5 ratings, from some reputed brand and 100% genuine & original.
Mere pass 2013 honda civic hai. Jub maine car li thi aik saal pehle. Maine owner se oil ka poocha konsa use ker rahe wo. Unhon ne kaha 20w50. Ghaari almost 120k driven thi tub. Maine ghaari laine ke baad apne mechanic se poocha konsa oil use kerna chahiye. Mechanic ne kaha ab ye kafi arsay se thick oil pe chal rahi. Ager humne isme patla oil dala tou iska engine kharab ho sakta hai. Phir maine isme 10w40 daal liya. Ghaari ko use kerte hue almost sawa saal ho gaya hai. Na tou ghaari oil kum ker rahi aur na ghaari mein koi aur problem ayi. Abhi ghaari almost 160k driven ho gayi hai. Ab maine mechanic se poocha oil ko aur patla dalne ke liye wo kehta ye oil theek hai. Mera dill hai mein isko 0w20 pe lay ker jaun. Lekin mechanic kehta apne ager isme mota tail na dala hota tou iske liye 0w20 theek tha. Any recommendations.
