Which Engine Oil

Salam,

I purchased Swift JDM 2007 model in last July 2019. now after 7 month I want to change engine oil. Last owner told me he uses 10-40 Castrol Magnetic.

My running is too low nearly nothing because its a family car. Last year car only travel 1000 KM.

Please suggest me which oil is better for my car I want to maintain it properly with low running.

1 - Castrol
2 - Valvoline
3 - Kendall

valvoline go for it opt for 5w 30 if engine is healthy

use local product of 5W-30 specs available at brand fuel station(s)

Its a Japanese car so local brand will be good?

Price is almost same for local and imported both.

pakistan is not oil producing country. Local refineries are blending lubricants from imported crude to meet global API standards. It is wrong to assume locally blended product is of inferior quality. unless somehow you are cheated upon.

I would recommend Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 5w-30, provided engine health is perfect in all respects, and you are not facing any oil reduction issues. If it does not suit, then 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline.

In your particular case, I would sincerely recommend to avoid fancy, expensive, imported engine oils. Go for local brand, but ensure that oil is 100% genuine and original!
