This below is helical gear box type in your normal street car see the gear curved this is to reduce noise (whining noise in a truck)

This is straight cut gears aka dog gears, race tranny

Now sequential tranny is something what you have on bike you change gears by either moving the lever up or down and in one direction all the gears fall. Bikes have sequential manual tranny.

I can see the advantage of a sequential tranny(being able to shift quickly), but are there any disadvantages(apart from the noise)?

Yes they are also used in Rally cars but the hydrolically actuated and electronically controlled like your F1 cars but not that hitech

Not only able to shift quickly but they take take much more pressure force applied then the helical.

But disadvantage is noise and it gets loud at higher speeds and Manufacturers do not like that, I guess we as consumers do not like
it
