I visit aliexpress on daily basis to choose these leds for my X do a lot of research about their brands, performance, types etc and than logout of aliexpress without placing the order due to fear of those civics on social media which were brunt due to electrical modifications

LEDs won’t do any harm. It’s the HIDs with ballast with improper wiring that causes the damage.

There are two types of led. One fan cooled and other copper strip cooled. What happened if fan burnt or copper strips damaged or covered by dust or caught fire also seen some kind of blasters with them. Afraid of those match boxes too.

In case of fan damage, the LEDs will burn out prematurely. As far as headlight damage and fire is concerned, if the LED wattage is less than that the enclosure could handle, there should be no problem 🧐 no idea though. Never thought about this issue.

Confused between these two. Both are of Oslamp but one is newer smd one, while the other has very high sales (older, led type).

Don't go for either. Both these LED generations are old now.

There is a newer one on the market. I'm using it in my 95 rolla. Light is excellent alhamdulillah. Search for 'h4 led csp'. That's IF your vehicle uses h4 bulb. Otherwise replace h4 with whatever type your vehicle uses.

I touched the heatsink, after driving with headlights on for half an hour. Didn't burn my hand. They don't go that hot.

Anyways. If you want, I am thinking to order another model, one slightly different from what I'm using now, just to compare results. If someone wants to buy, mine might become available.

Not worth the risk .if something goes wrong 25-28 lakh depending on model goes down the drainage

I am also in same dilemma , although I want to improve light but fear of short circuit is holding me back . Now a days I see lots of civic X with change bulbs in low and high beam so I think that if you fit it from a reputable shop of good quality then it should be fine.

Everyone keeps saying that its the HIDs that you see in civics catching fire, not the led lamps. HIDs are hotter than leds and they have long wirings, adapter type thing etc which can result in short circuit (more vulnerabilities). LEDs are simple lamps (hotter than normal bulbs tho).

Led bulbs or light emitting diodes or the yellowish part which brighten up or what ever you call it doesn't heats up itself but cause a lot of heat generation at the back ends where current enters into diodes. Precisely if we say that 70% current converted into heat energy and only 30% converted into light. So you are right upto some extent that most of the part inside the headlights glass housing remains colder than halogens but toward socket/plug and outer part generates a lot more heat
