Fastest Production Sedan:
Bentley Silver Spur 552hp. Dunno what the top speed is though.

There appears to be some kind of conflict here. I read this website and they claim that The Twin Turbo Callaway Corvette Sledgehammer with 898hp and a top speed of 254.76mph mph and a 400m time of 10.6 compared to 240mph and 11.6 of the Mclaren F1.
and its a 1988 model.
Any car buffs out there wanna elaborate?

Well, currently, the Mclaren holds the record at 242mph. There is a video and audio file avaible... (390, 391..................391..............392!............thats all she'll do, 392 km/h....still mighty impressive isnt it?).
The Veyron is promising a top speed of 406km/h (252mph), but, that remains to be seen still.
The Koneiggsegg CC promises at 220+mph top speed, but, Ive not heard of this being independently verified as of yet.

I believe that no one ever entered the dauer 962 for the record top speed, and maybe it did not qualify due to the low numbers made, I cant quite remember, but it was less than 20 and maybe less than ten.

About the KOENIGSEGG i read:

Umm, The Koenigsegg CCR, as referred to earlier, is officially the world's fastest production car, with an offical top speed of 390 kph (242 mph) Sorry to all the McLaren fans out there, the McLaren's official top speed was not judged on the "391 kph, it will not go any further" vid. (It isn't 392) It was listed under the 2000 Guinness Book of World Records as having a top speed of 386.1 kph. Anyways, do check it out. BTW have any of you people seen a Dodge Tomahawk, it's looks like a friggin' bike with a jet engine squeezed it....obscene yet intriguing.
