if i were you, id prefer plasma over an LED and the reason is quite simple. Plasma screen is quite rigid and can take minor accidental hits as compared to LED.
If i were an LED manufacturer, i'd have put a gorilla glass or something on screen as the market is littered with stories of LED tvs and their broken screens.. and sometimes it happen when you are trying to wall mount it or shift in and out of a room or packing...
LED TVs are modern, extremely light weight and simple but fragile. Most of modern LED TVs will have a screen, power supply board and main board or logic board. infact i opened up a Bahun TV and all it had was a combo board (power, main and TCcon all together on a single PCB). Replacing the LED screen is not a walk in the park and it's boards are expensive.
Still if you want to go for LED, Chinese brands are more or less the same (Just like CD70). you can even take part from one tv and put in another subject to a few conditions.
Oh and instead of smart tv, you can work on option of using a Chromecast or MI box if the price gap to smart is significant. Smart TV is essentially a MI box integrated with the main board.
