Which Model of corolla xli or gli or 2.od is best 2003 to 2007 or 2008 to 2014

want to buy corolla xli or gli but confused that which model is best according to body,engine and fuel average

most of people says that from 2003 to 2008 corolla is best in every thing like body,Ac and fuel average is also good on petrol and cng both but after 2008 to 2014 are not good.

According to my knowledge the engine came in 2003 to 2008 corolla are 1-NZ or 2-NZ so please tell me what is the difference between 1-NZ and 2-NZ and how there fuel average is because i want to drive on petrol.
don't know about engine of 2008 to 2014 corolla.

some mechanics says that diesel cars fuel average is best but dont know about diesel cars.

before this i used Efi 16 valve engines in 84 corolla 1300cc and in indus xe corolla 96 i used 1600 cc but very dissapointed with their performance.

so please give me better advise.

try to find newest model xli gli mean 2012, 2013 or 2014 and regarding 03 to 08 model xli gli you will find a clean piece b/w 11 to 12 lacs and even more.
overall performance wise both shapes are almost same.
never used diesel variant so no idea of its performance.

all these xli/gli from 2003 to crrent model have 2NZ 1300cc vvti engine with few upgrades which returns 12-13 km/ltr in city and on long around 15km/ltr depends upon driving style.

1NZ is 1500cc available in japanese version corolla x, axio, fielder etc. fuel average is better than locally available corolla.

You should also consider 2007, 2008 model late import Fielder with more options than xli/gli 2013, 2014 model in same price bracket considering both are used cars.

2003-2008 is 9gen corolla
2008-2014 is 10 gen corolla
People have now started prasing 9th gen corolla before it was 7th gen corolla and even bwfore that it was ke70 aka biyasi
People have habbit of prasing old models for no reason
9gen corolla has worst worst of all road grip worst of body strength yes build quality is better and had pretty good fuel consumption as well overall I consider 10 gen better in road grip and comfort department borh of these gens have stupid sort of seats while 11 gen (new shape) has improved seats very comfy
About diesel 2d corolla was offeres till 10gen corolla and 2c even after being a very old tech diesel a had pretty good fuel economy in corolla chasis it can shame any tupid mouse sized kei car in mileage department also because of diesel engine it had a stronger suspenion and didnt float on road like petrol models also being diesel it had very strong braking (engine braking not to confuse with braking system)

9 lacs is a low budget for 2008-2014, so let that slide. You are left behind with the old shape, Diesel being the heavier one in that is a good option as you can use engine braking, the petrol version would be difficult to find in a clean condition in your given budget.
If you have to use the car on paved roads, look into a civic 2002-2004 or a city 2003-2006, you can get these in better condition within your budget
