Which oil for 100,000kms mileage 2014 Grande?

2014 Grande
Mileage: 100,000kms
City: Karachi (very hot weather)
I drive with a heavy paddle
Please recommend best engine oil?

Recently I used ASIN 5w30 but the performance has been third class. Car runs heavy and before it used to give atleast 10-11kms/ltr average but now it's down to 9.2kms/ltr. I don't know which oil was used before as I bought it from someone. I always use genuine oil pump and air filter.

Also, people say that due to high mileage the viscosity of oil should be higher e.g. 10W-40. How true is that?

Please only recommend b/w LiquiMoly & Mobil1

Try liqui moly 5w-30.its a good oil you will get better performance.

Mobil 1 is superior in this category as it is api sn and fully synthetic, while in case of Liqui moly there is no fully synthetic available in Pakistan in api SN rating.

My fuel average of 1.8cvt altis has gone down to 8.5. Driving is the same. This after 10000km inspection. Taglon 5w50 was put i was standing there. Previously it was giving me 9.5 same driving style and with AC on.

I want to switch to havoline 5w40 as this is what i used in my previous cars. Do u think oil makes so much of a difference. We know that there is no engine tuning etc in these cars

My suggestion would be to stick with a Xw30 (10w30 or 5w30) engine oil, preferably a 5w30 as it can be found in both synthetic and semi-synthetic base oils plus that 5w rating would also provide good sub-zero temperature cold start lubrication. Btw both 10w30 and 5w30 will have similar viscosity cst at our ambient temperatures and at operating temp as well. This is what Toyota recommends for best fuel economy in it's small economy-oriented engines.
IMO, avoid spending too much on expensive German oil with super-wide coverage like 5w50 etc. Any Xw50 oil is too thick for this car(please see viscosity cst@100 of a 5w50 and then a 20w50). It will work no doubt, even for 2lac kms, but the fuel economy would be lower and why waste your hard-earned money? I wouldve used the castrol gtx 10w60 or mobil1 5w50 had I been driving an m5 or an AMG. That is just my opinion and you don't have to take my word(or anybody's) for anything. You may read the numerous previous discussions on the forum about this and also check dedicated oil forums like BITOG. Study yourself and make the informed decision.

Ps: Aisin makes a 5w30 fully synthetic that says PAO + Ester on its Packing. Those are very high quality grade iv and v base stocks. IMO that would be an excellent choice for this car.

Sir, we have lab tested taglon and it didn’t turn out to be a good oil. It’s just another oil blended in Pakistan to keep your warranty intact.
For mobil 1 5w50 i guess @ha125 can clear your perception. He owns 2018 FL grande and at 5000kms he switched onto mobil 1 5w50 on my recommendation.

I have been through all this, pouring Xw30 than was not satisfied and went for liqui moly 5w40, and now i’m facing issues on cold starts again, so i’m switching on mobil 1 5w50 at next oil change.
Reason for switching? Liqui moly api sn category doesn’t have any fully synthetic in Pakistan. Only synthoil high tech 5w40 is fully synthetic but its api sm

By the way 5W-50 is bad choice for these cars it's to to thick. Why u recommanded it to him in first place?

My experience with 5w-50 is great so far. Taglon used to give abnormal COLD start noises other than that it was fine. After Mobil 1, cold start is smooth. It just climbs 1.8 RPM's and within seconds comes back to 1,000rpms and engine is super silent...

My Car is currently giving me 14kmpL with combined effect of Lowering the height + Mobil 1 oil...

Well guess ill do that same. It gives better mileage i think upto 10k kms. If thats correct do u think the genuine filter will keep it going in paki environment?

People who talk about thin/thick oil on pakwheels made me do experimentation with my engine.
I faced worse type of issues in 10w30 toyota and 5w40 shell helix ultra. I advice on the basis of experimentations and data. If you have legit data that mobil 1 5w50 isn’t running great in 2zrfe engine than please share. @ha125 and @bridgedoctorali are using it in their grande and getting superb fuel economy figures and performance from their cars.
R&D of a company matters a lot instead of grade.

Genuine filter will last 12-15k kms easily.
10k is the safe limit. Even mobil askari limited Pakistan recommends to use this oil for 15k kms, but 10k is the safe limit, keeping in view the bad petrol quality and dust etc!
