Which ptcl broadband modem is best?

I am planning to apply for ptcl broadband 2 mb connection.
Can anyone tell me whether we could get our desired modem from ptcl
or not,if we are able to choose our modem then which modem is best?
I hpoe i get best advice from all broadband customers.

ZTE Modem is the best................Shiro sucks (N).............whenever voltage fluctuation occurs it just restarts :@............this problem does not occur in ZTE Modems!!!!

ZTE & Shiro both are widely provided by PTCL for DSL users, so I have many friends happy and unhappy with PTCL DSL services, therefore we cant blame any modem for poor or good performance as there are various other factors too. PTCL has poor customer services I must remind you that.

I am using Maxcom DSL since last 2 years and quite happy with it. They are also upgrading their package plans very soon. They provided me ALCATEL slim Black Modem and I think its good.

PTCL provides very low grade Chinees Modems... At first they were giving Huawei, then Shiro... Both Sucks big time and worth only Rs.500 max...

If you can find, paradyne modems are the best, but are expensive. I got one for Rs. 4700...

I have ZTE's modem since 1 year and its working fine. have not faced any problem yet.

there shouldnt b any sort of distortion in ur phone line thats it

My friend working in cyber net says that paradyne is the best modem and cyber net gives that modem to only corporate customers.

Agree with @sarmadhussain, it doesn't matter what modem you have, your SNR should be good. I don't feel any difference between my previous modem shiro and current modem huawei,

500 ruppees for shiro and huawei modem? that's impossible. What I heard huawei modem is for 4000 and shiro is for 2500 in the market.

As far as my limited knowledge is concerned, the PTCL provides the ZTE modem

to the 1 mb users and the white Huawei one

to users greater than that as well suscribers of PTCL unSmart. However i have the modem in the drawer and have always been using my D-Link Router

so that i can use the net from my laptop and my brother can access from his phone.

DO NOT.........I REPEAT DO NOT GET PTCL.........

get LINK DOT NET instead........i had ptcl they gave me huwawei mt880 modem.........but it stopped wrking within a day.......

i complained them a 1000 times but no one came to fix it for a WHOLE WEEK.........

this is how bad PTCL IS AT ITS CUSTOMER SERVICE]......i got rid of it n got LINK DOT NET.......and it works fine......and their customer support is quite active as well..........

It's not like that. Customer service people don't listen to complains but you can always go to your exchange to complain for any issue. Customer support is worst but internet service is best (y)

LOL.......no dudes.....i do not need to be HIRED by LInk DOT NEt.....to speak the truth........

i pay 1445 per month for a 2mb connection , ( my bro. is a student , so we availed student discount......otherwise its 2000 a month).

internet is business for me NOT entertainment.....and i m sure none of us have enough time to go to their 9-5 exchanges........and wait for them to fix their issues....... Link dot net people are available within the next 24 hours to fix ne issue we face.......and PTCL........we do not even need to argue whos better at customer service.......MOBILINK.......or PTCL....

... and again......you do not need to be paid always to speak the truth...

plus Link dot net DOES NOT TAKE INSTALLATION CHARGES......its free.

it IS true that the customer service of of PTCL sucks but if one is smart enuf to get the number of his exchange, it solves the matter a lot. plus, if you're kind enuf to tip the guy who comes to your house for installation/troubleshooting, he will always remain loyal to you.

Well I dont REALLY Agree about the bad customer service of PTCL i am one of the founder member of PTCL DSL service here in KHI i do have Faced ALOT of Problems But those were all Handeled pretty well and i am pretty much satisfied of what they are providing ...Never Tipped any one so far also and about that Modem Notworking well its an Electronic item it could happen to anyone could have taken it back to Exchange ppl and they would have replaced it in no time..
