In 1984/1985, Toyota introduced an entirely new design to replace the aging and now 25 year old 40 series Land Cruiser.

The 70 through 73 series is the short and medium wheelbase version of the long running Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series. Essentially, the direct replacement of the famous 40 series and what most Americans know of as the FJ40.
These models were built in more variations than the longer wheelbase Land Cruisers. Some are still in production today for a select few markets

In dubai they are with V6 4.0 petrol engines i guess.

Hi Saqib,

I know the LC70 series, the RKR & RMRs used here . but this one seems a bit different as the rear wheel is not there & there seems a buldge rather than a depression where the wheel goes at the back. Seen only on you tube and that in the hands of our arab brothers only. They refer it as some 'sports package' The engine is a 4500cc V6

Can you tell me that what do these RKR, RMR and JMR stand for? Are these typically militiary terms or has got something to do with body/engine layout of 70 series LC?

Thats an FZJ71. Power unit is a 24 valve, 4500cc straight six called the 1FZ-FE. It replaced the 3F motor in the 70 series landcruisers. Front end is coil sprung and the rear has the traditional leafs.

The land cruisers here in this video are Toyota Land Cruisers 70 series from 2001 to 2005 with the standard V6 4500cc EFI 220 hp engine. Sports air filter, headers and sports exhaust systems maybe installed in some of these LCs with horsepower increase of around 80 hp.

That 4500cc EFI 220hp engine is the 1FZ-FE and it runs a straight, not 'v' six configuration.
