Which type of Engine Baleno1.6 gti have?

it has got g16b . it is sohc and the the output is somewhere around 96 hp if i can remember correctly.
the car is very quick in initial acceleration.

bro u r mistaken,
yeah it has a g16b engine but its not sohc its dohc engine with some 98hp.
its really quick in initial acceleration plus it is also very powerful engine.

Yeah Baleno has a G16B engine. This engine is suprisingly powerful. It makes baleno one of the fastest car in its category.

Its G16 16V SOHC engine and there is a DOHC variant available too but was only used in the Vitara aka Sidekick aka Escudo versions only.

It depends in which car these engines are placed. A ableno 1.6 and Corolla 1.6 are almost neck to neck with baleno being slightly better in initial acceleration.

And when it comes to braking, baleno surely needs some assistance from roadside trees

Well with what I have experienced it can out accelerate a 1.6GLI AE100 any day. It out accelerates a Civic VTi too.

There is just something mysterious about Suzuki engines, they are very low powered hp wise but very fast placed in cars and Baleno is one example and the Suzuki Carry van I have here in Dubai is another which is 1.3 SOHC engine making 72hp from the factory.

corolla 1.6 is DOHC but (I think) baleno 1.6 is not. Both are 16 valve for sure

The acceleration answer is very easy.
Baleno is lighter than Corolla.
Corolla's body is bigger and therefore more body weight for the engine to pull. That is the case with all Suzuki's, so there is nothing mysterious about their engines. It's simple physics.

There is and apparently you do not have any clue reagrding it. Since being a Motorcycle engine maker their engine internals are lighter then that of others. And if you have lighter internals meaning lighter roatational mass and more power is transfered to the wheels rather then wasted at the crank and connecting roads or piston. It is the same with their motorcycle engines too. Other motorcycle Manufacturers and car engine makers are Yamaha (makes most of Toyotas engines) and Honda

Wth all respect, I would never argue with your knowledge of engines. The only statement I was making is that Baleno acceleration is naturally faster than Corolla, since its a lighter car.
There is no "mystery" about it. Imagine putting the same Baleno 1.6 gti engine in a Corolla. It will not perform as good, since the Corolla is a heavier car.

well toyota has diffirent variants too in ae-101,, the Gli is not really yr GT car so it cannot be compared to Suzuki Gti. the corolla Gt has a diffirent engine

Well ... its a G16B SOHC 16v with 99HP and 14x Nm of torque.

This is what I know of the G16B ... with headers, no free flow and I guess an cold air intake in a Cultus/Swift MK3 ... it made 99HP AT THE WHEELS on a dyno. That is the HP its rated at on the crank ... and with THAT little mods it makes 99hp at the wheels. That shows little powerloss ...

I cant disclose more information about whos ride is it etc ... sorry about that.

The weight factor plays in but the fact that you get almost all of the power to the wheels is something to be noted!
