Which Ultra Wide Lens to buy

Only few options available locally the tokina according to internet is different from one unit to the other second is the sigma 10-20 and third option is a 10.5mm Nikon fish eye which requires a plugin later to make most images usable what do you guys sugest ?

i have played with the tokina 12-24 f4 mk II. Its a good lens, try to see if you can get that.

The best obviously is Nikor 12-24mm f2.8 AFS. But price is astronomical at 1.53 lac, available from Camtronx

Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 lens for FX cameras or Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 for DX cameras.

i dont know if anyone would actually use the f2.8 for a wide angle landscape shot where you need sharpness across the frame... personally i would go for a prime lens and shoot at f8

An f2.8 stopped down to f4 or even f8 would be plenty sharp just as a prime all across, plus give flexbility of the field of view that a prime would not, in my view. Besides, a wide angle prime would be nearly as costly without gaining too much sharpness, I think.
