someone plz clearify 10w-50 kinda classification
read all at car bible still have a question
lower W number means lower viscousity/weight at -18C
helps ur engine at cold temps
agreed and understood
other number means the wieght/viscousity wont increase more than that number at 100C
a 30 oil will be thinner at 100C than 50 oil
so higher the second number better the heated performance as we need more lubrication at high temp.
now heres the question the site says
Think of it like this: a 10W30 oil is a 10-weight oil that will not thin more than a 30-weight oil when it gets hot.
shouldnt the viscousity decrease with temprature?
but in here 10 is changeing into 30
now i think im mixing weight and viscosity
wts the diff between them? and whats the phenomena going on with 10 changing into 30?
