Whistle sound when accelerating

salaam guys. i bought xli 2012. car is good but when i drive to 40 c oper jatenho whistle sound c anay lagti hai mene mechanic ko dikhaya to he said gear box k andar c awaz hai gear ki. means jab acverlator du to tabhi ati hai jese old rikshaw ya bike me ati thi. please guide yeh kese khatam hogi or kya dosra transmission dalna hoga. manual corolla hai .

Most manual transmission cars in Pakistan never get their gear oil changed - the owners usually don't know that it's a standard maintenance procedure. So, older gearboxes develop that rickshaw sound as they wear out prematurely.

IMO learn to live with it - the alternative is to get it properly rebuilt. If you get it changed from the junkyard, there is no guarantee that the replacement had it's oil changed regularly either.

I don't have any idea about a proper gearbox rebuild tbh - you'll need to get the estimate from a good workshop.

I don't know any good workshop in Karachi, maybe @capsat can suggest one?

Before going for any major repair i would suggest you to check your sound system. I would suggest you to turn the music / CD/ DVD / USB player off and drive. See if the sound has gone after you have turned off your sound system.

Bro its coming from Tramission, Mechanic ne Check kia tha. Ek bhai ko islambad phone kia usne kaha Repair karalo bearing awaz hai ! Werna Dosra Tramission leker Daldo ! Sound System nai laga gadi me !

Transmission repair is tricky n am not in touch with any reliable transmission shop am sorry

I believe there is someone who can refurbish the gearbox to factory specs - only problem is that he is in Lahore.

Guys After Detailing Searches i Found one guy IMRAN ENGINEERING WORKS near DAAK Khana, just talked with him, he told me the reason for it, he said jab Open huga tab kherchay ka pata chalkyaga either 5000 to 6000 rs or need to change the tramission cost 25k . He is only SPecailized in Gear works for All Cars ! He said 4 c 5 hours lagege Fix karne me wapisi sab kaam ko. I will visit him, his google Reviews are also good.

Make sure he uses a decent sealant - generic sealant will cause leaks after the repair. Please keep the thread updated.

Guys i noticed Something, the Sound is getting low now after Changing the Gear oil 2 days back. I mean no sound till 2nd gear but 3rd me b Slow hgae hai . i will Monitor for 1 to 2 months and then will Decide Either or Replace or Repair !
