Why Honda Engines are Louder than Toyota..?

I have a general observation that honda engines make more noise than toyota engines both on idle position and in gears while moving. I have experienced this on honda civic and accord compared to corolla and camry respectively. I would like to have your comments on this.

Well here in Pakistan its vice versa. Corolla's engine produce more sound on idle than a Honda Civic/City.
Insulation also matters a lot.

I dunno but our city engine is much more silent than corolla, idles so smooth that you cant even tell if its on

I know.. I just added another noise type to the thread.

BTW on the other hand Viper SRT have a high end mic system by exhaust system which takes the sound and plays it for you inside the cabin on the high quality music system of the car..

I've only heard the R18 when you talk about newer engines, and yea it doesn't sound very good. B and D engines sound like mechanical perfection to me, only when on stock exhaust system.

Thanks for your feedback. Can any one shed light on the technical part...why the honda engines are noisy..? i have accord here is dubai and civic back in pakistan and both cars i feel are have louder engines then toyota cars which some of my relatives have. Toyota engines make very sleek sound even when on high rpms. While driving my accord, sometimes i feel i am driving a diesel engine car.

P.S- both my cars are well maintained and dont have any techincial issues at all.
